Bip the question is do you think Lee is off base or not? That was the point of the thread. The problem comes in when you and others want to make it seem like the rest of us are some kind of fools hanging on every word and swinging left and right based on every report, good or bad. That's not the case.

I listed the many reasons why i'm excited about the coming season and it wasn't just because of a good report or two. I agree with Lee's assessment and it appears that you yourself are also in agreement. You say 43 wins and I say 46, I haven't changed and there's no real big difference. So why the attitude when some of us choose to express enthusiasm for this coming season? You say you want to wait and see how things turn out, but if you really felt that way, then why bother to even make a prediction? Don't crap on our right to be happy about the way this team has been coming together and preparing this summer. In addition to the other factors which can make this a good year for this team.

Do you really feel the team will have a winning record or not? Do you expect that the team will be better prepared or not? If you do then you're agreeing with Lee and you don't think he's off base. So what the FREAK are you arguing about?

My point is, I don't care what David Lee says. I care what he does. I don't care what any of these players say. I've watched football, basketball and baseball for over 30 years now and never once have I heard a negative prediction from a player. These words are meaningless. They have as much weight as last year when the team was "motivated to prove LB wrong". And when all of us predicted 38-42 wins. It's all meaningless. The only thing that means anything is how you produce on the court. It's like me trash talking in a game of one on one against Kobe. I can talk all I want. I can speak about what great shape I'm in. I can tell him how I am going to make him my biotch. But until I actually do it, my words are just words.
I just hope that people will like me

Exactly. Lee and other Knicks players said the same optimistic stuff before last season. And the year before. And the year before...

It's amazing how much a team this bad, talks about how good they think they are. There comes a time when you have to shutup and do it. For the Knicks, this is that time.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

weird.. usually NBA players and pro athletes say things like "I expect more of the same.. losing." or the ever popular "I have done very little this offseason."
