dj - when you consider that the Knicks are not so far removed from Shandon Anderson, Tim Thomas, Der Marr Johnson, Qyntel Woods, Matt Barnes, Quentin's unpredictible spine - and don't forget Jared's off year - well, small forward has been problemmatic - and that's putting it nicely.

Skill forward is such a weak link it makes me wish David Lee could get back down to under 230.

BigC - don't be silly. There are 48 minutes per night for the position... Balkman averaged 15 minutes per game last season so an upgrade to 18-20 minutes would be a reward for his progress. Jeff is versatile enough to play some four. 28-30 minutes avg per might work just fine.

You really think Jeffries can get 28 to 30 minutes?

You have Zach and Lee at the pf. Then you have at the sf Q,Balkman and Jeffries. So break down how you think in a 48 minute game how Jeffries is going to get 28- to 30 with a regular rotation. I can tell you right now that Curry and Zach will get like 35 minutes each. Lee might also get 25- 30 minutes

I don't care what this article says about him. He sucks lemons.
I'd start any of Q, Balk, or Lee at the 3 over Jeffries.
At least each of them does SOMETHING well.

Exactly. If Jeffries plays 30 minutes I guess Lee and Q are going to play 10 minutes.

If Jeffries gets 30 minutes a game then Isiah needs to get shot in the butt with a nail gun.

I wonder if President and Head Coach Isiah Thomas had any choice words of "encouragement" to Jeffries during exit interviews.

The skill forward position should be fun to watch. I hope Jeffries keeps the beard.
