Atlanta actually had a pretty good team that year. It's crazy how we just blew through them like that. I guess we just caught them off guard.

They were sort of on the declining end of those Mutombo/Smith/Blaylock teams which were always good-to-very good but never great. Meanwhile the Knicks were on a hot streak. I think they were also a poor matchup for us as they were too slow to keep up with our running game.

My favorite was Patrick Ewing's thunderous dunk in 1995 against the Pacers at the end of game 7... the dunk that won the series and propelled the Knicks into the Finals.

Oh, wait, nevermind.

I was at that game... and the memory still horrifies me. I was jumping up and down like everyone else in my section only to watch in horror as that finger roll bounced out. Pat always threw it down with authority. Why he didn't that time is well beyond me.

It wanted to show everybody he can finger roll like the Iceman so he could impress the fly honeys.

I agree that Darius Miles is up there, but Tim Thomas? What are you talking about? Tim Thomas is a highly accomplished individual. In his time here he was clearly able to make us younger and more athletic. You can't downplay that type of impact.

ewing got away with a travel, then took two long strides from far out, on a messed up calf muscle...that's why he couldn't dunk it. doesn't excuse the missed finger roll but there was no way he could've dunked that one.

No Bernard King love? He had a bunch of memorable break-away dunks, but the one that stands out in my mind, is the put-back slam on the Pistons in game 5 of the 84 playoffs. Dont remember who missed, but King came off the baseline and rose majestically over everyone, grabbed the ball with one hand, ****ed half way behind his head and slammed it in.

A great dunk in a great game when he and Isiah went at it.

Clips from that game here. Bernard's dunk is about 30 seconds in.

That turnaround J against the double team is sick.

Allan Houston also dunked on T-Mac back when he was a raptor, and it was pretty ferocious. It was in Toronto. I feel like I am the only person who ever saw that game.

My favorite dunk is he dunk tho. it was just so incredible, on MJ and co., at that point in the game, against the bulls, AND WITH HIS LEFT HAND!!!!!!!!!

Who does that? What 6'3" guy dunks so ferociously leaning in the air on 2 people with his left hand? Thats just incredible.

Your the best Tom.....Great game. Did you see Isiah totatly undress Darrel Walker? The last 2 minutes of regulation is one of the best individual performances I have ever seen. Unbelievable game.

I'll take your word for it because I saw it from the 300s with him shooting from the backboard I was behind... I haven't seen a replay of that shot ever because, well, I couldn't stomach it.

you know, i forgot about that dunk that houston did over t-mac. that was nice. also i forgot the tip in dunk that ewing DID do against the pacers in the 94 ecf that sent us to the finals. it wasn't a ferocious dunk but a significant one.

Spoiler alert!

Remember Orlando when they had penny and shaq? There was a game where they were killing the knicks and penny and shaq took turns on back to back plays banginging it down ewings throat at the rim. The whole arena was dying laughing, especially shaq, penny and the Orlando bench.

Also that pippen dunk on ewing when he kinda grabbed him and pushed him down and stood over him. That was uncalled for.

There was a game where Shawn Kemp drove on ewing jumped and ****ed the ball between his legs and dunked on ewing backwards. That was so retarded.

Ewing used to protect the basket with the best of them but when he missed em, not did he pay for it.

i remember. ewing was a good shotblocker but he always got dunked, probably the most out of any player i can remember. the reason shaq rarely gets dunked on is because he move out of the way when a player approaches a basket and doesn't try. i only saw him get dunked on once and that was derrick coleman. that reminded me, starks had a wicked dunk on olojowan on a fast break. starks wnet up for a dunk while the dream tried to block the shot from behind without any success and he fell because of his momentum. when hakeem was on the ground starks doubled back on defense while staring at olojowan on the ground.
