I like the management of the team so far. Islesfan is not the brightest owner in the world, but you know he will give the GM acess to whatever resources he has available to attract the most hard core haters. Solace is a solid coach who has a system and sticks with it. Although I don't agree with all of TrueBlues plans for the future I do think he has a legitimate direction of hate that he is headed in.

I'm considering the contract offer at the moment but if I join the haters what happens when everyone on the team realizes that I in the past have loved Don Chaney, Lenny Wilkens, Larry Brown, Charlie Ward and Stephon Marbury. This may undermine my leadership abilities.

Maybe I'll contact Nixluva and see what the "lovers" are offering.

I've greenlights the contract, regardless of your previous affections for Starbury. Although, if you do sign with us, you have to go by the name BoBo. That's non-negotiable.

Does considering myself a "realist" make me a "hater"?
How about banging my head against the wall after reading luva's and misterearl's posts?

95% of the posters on this board consider themselves realists. The point being that you don't agree with the lovers... and lately I've been quite impressed, so yes, I think you might just be a "hater".

I'm not sure about luva, but I'm quite convinced that misterearl only posts to be an antagonist. Nobody can have so little to add to a conversation as he does and still be serious. Like when *intentionally* misinterprets things.

Here's an abstract example:

Solace: "The sky is blue"
Misterearl: "Solace - why do you claim the sky is green?"
Solace: "I didn't say that. I said the sky is blue."
Misterearl: "Solace - Why do you hate the sky so much?"
Solace: "I didn't say that. I said the sky is blue."
Misterearl: "Nixluva - I don't understand why Solace is so hateful either"

I've often called myself a realist but don't worry Panos they will shoot back and call you names like hater because you disagree with the direction of team. It really makes perfect sense.

Yes, that makes you a hater. Understanding what type of players the Knicks have and their limited ceilings along with knowing what type of management and ownership they have, goes with being a hater. A Lover would completely ignore those things.

You're a welcome addition.

Come on nyk, come over to the dark side. Embrace it, don't fight it.

Don't give Lovers the satisfaction.

Damn, this is frustrating. I look at the "haters" and I see a winning team. A team that I would love to join. But the "Bobo clause" is really a sticking point. Plus being called a "Marbury lover" by some of their vets is really upsetting me. This is going to be a tough decision.
I just hope that people will like me

All I need is a small army of 300 Haters to go to battle with.

Not bad, considering I was like Starbury, ALL ALONE, when I first got here.

What's the difference between Action's post and someone calling another person a derogatory term for a homosexual?

Nothing.

Keep up the good work Action.

I see now that you are ignorant of both B-Ball & History because most people know that Hoover's problem wasnt his sexual orientation but rather his deeply closeted shame that ate away at his soul & forced him to lash out & try to destroy that which was most like him. My mistake for assuming that you would pick up on a high level diss. Unless this is more of your tricknolgy like when you cleverly convinced the mods that I had called them a name & thereby got me banned...If so, I salute your hateration but know that me & "CI's Finest" are watchin you like John from Cincinatti "I got my eye on you..."

Ok, so you don't like homosexuals for the same reason that J Edgar Hoover didn't.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I'd ask why you're going off on this ridiculous tangent but I really don't want to know.

Are you saying his arguments are "circumstantial and tangential?"

As if anybody here ever really talks about basketball and not character assasinations of men who most of us couldnt even carry the metaphorical jockstraps of (athletically speaking, of course)

Being a "Hater" or a "Lover" is black and white. A "Lover" may not see many negatives, but a "Hater" never sees any positives. Being a "Realist" allows one to see both sides of the fence. We're able to see both the positives and the negatives and dont shoot down every move Isiah makes just because of a particular bad move he may have made in the past and vice versa. Each trade, pick, etc is weighed on its own merit. Realists critique the Knicks when they need to be critiqued and praise when it is just do.

I'm down with the Real Realists. In the Nuetral division. I'll be waiting in the finals while the "Lovers" and "Haters" battle it out.

Got it, you think you can carry other peoples metaphorical jockstraps so that gives you the right to assasinate their character.

That's just juvenile.

Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back. The realists are in a slim minority here, and most of the guys who think they're realists have just as strong, potentially one-sided, views as everyone else.
