If Ainge pulls it off, he deserves mad kudos for a massive overhaul that brought back 2 perrenial all stars, without giving up his own. They went from competing for the 8th seed to competing for a spot in the NBA Finals.

If they get to the Finals I agree that they can win it. I was just talking Eastern Conference.

I HATE the Celtics! I always have. To see them actually have a chance to put together a good team is more than annoying to me. It's a disaster. NJ and Bos are the 2 teams that already give us fits and the last thing I want to see if for them to both be good at the same time. UGH!

Well this team is just gonna have to tough it out. It's not supposed to be easy. I think this is a good test for this team, cuz every night they'll have to be up for their opponent and this team seems to play harder if they respect their opponent, so this could be a good thing for them to keep them sharp.

Agreed, but if he pulls this trade off, he just turned the Celtics into a legitimate championship contender from an 8th seed hopeful, all in a matter of months. How can you just *shrug* that off?

Heinsohn will be even more unbearable to listen to if this happens.

Hey, I'll give the guy all the credit in the world if this trade happens AND it gets results. But, for now, his rep precedes him.

we'll see how it works out. perkins now has to step up at center? the 3 stars have to figure out a pecking order? it might now work, guys. if i were them, i'd make it clear that ray's the leader with the rock. i'd look to him to score the big points at clutch time.

i know it's an impressive arsenal but i wouldn’t be quick to concede anything to them.

What I find interesting he's acquiring All-Stars/Superstars/All-NBA players/Team players/Winners it's a stark contrast to what I SAY UGH has done.

They won't have to figure anything out because all 3 players are team players. Simply nothing to figure out at all.

you gotta soak those things. as you saw i restrict my dunking to the court

i'm serious. anyone else get a feeling these 3 may not translate to a a conference title? who's helping kg on the boards? big baby? who's dealing with young speed in opposing backcourts?

I don't think anybody is conceding anything to the Celtics if they make this deal but they're certainly in the conversation about who comes out of the east, if they make this trade.

kg being heralded as one of the game's best teammates, as well as ray allen known for his veteran leadership both on the court and in the lockerrom, i think they will work it out fine.

all 3 players are at the point of their careers where it's more important to win a title than their own stats. i think if you had to pick 2 stud players to bring to a team without any reservations of making it work, ray and kg rank up there. this isn't like bringing in kobe. kg shared the load quite effectively with cassell + spree and we know both of them liked to shoot the ball.

the biggest adjustment will be from pierce. and i think he's been asking for this kind of help for so long that he'll adjust.

as a gm, you have to look at it in that manner and make the move...even if it doesn't work out.

the breakdown of spree + cassell came b/c of contract extensions.

these 3 guys are taken care of already.

LOL They have

Perkins
Gomes
Powe
Baby
Brandon Wallace(played ok in stretches during SL)

Not to mention K.G. and Paul Pierce are beast on the boards. Rebounding and D will not be a problem on the interior/frontcourt.

that doesn't look like a reliable frontcourt rotation to me.

i'm just saying that these assembled mini all star teams late in guys' careers have a poor track record and i'm already going on record that i predict no title for boston with these 3.
