Im totaqlly with you, we cant be ridiculous. Mardy, Nate, D. Lee, Balkman, Chandler, can all go for Ron Ron.

But Id trade any combination of those players, what they bring to the table is either already accounted for, or easily replaceable.

I dont want to trade nichols, because as a shooter, he seems to be the real deal, and we havent had a sharp shooter on our team since H20 left. Shooters are a rare commodity, but I would throw Nichols in too if thats what the deal required.

I dont wanna overpay, but I dont wanna go overboard being stingy either.

Totally agree Killa. I also agree with a few of the posters who have said we shouldn't overpay because we don't have to. I don't think Lee and Balkman have to be included to get Ron, his value is so damn low, no one wants him.

I would say, once August 28 comes we trade Fred Jones, Dickau and Nate for RonRon.

Chalk me up as being stingy.
Ron's value is pretty low right now, especially with the 7 game suspension on top of it.

He is an incredible player, but how many games will he actually play before he short circuits and gets suspended for another 5 or 6 games? How many times will we hear of more chaos in the locker room or that Ron is not happy being a 3rd or 4th option on offense? Does he decide the hometown team is not right for him?

I can't honestly say, with all the baggage Ron brings, that we wouldn't be better off grooming Balkman or Chandler for the SF spot. I may be willing to part with one or the other, but I would demand Sac Town take JJ2 as well.

I'm afraid of not being stingy right now. If you tell Zeke, "Here are your young assets. Use any of them to get Artest", you may wake up and find that they are all infact gone. I can live with us standing pat right now. I don't think we can afford to put all our eggs in one crazy ass basket. Hopefully Grunwald can start putting some of these trade insecurities to rest.

Artest is 27 years old and one of the best players in the NBA. The only reason he's got a shot of coming here is he's coocoo for coco puffs

Then he'll fit right in.

I hope Ron gets a blog at the Post when he's a Knick.

Maybe when Steph goes to Italy Marc Berman will be right up RonRons ass instead.

I'm really warming to this idea. Are there any other insane basketball players that we can bring to New York to play with Ron & Stephon?
