Give it up already and accept it dude.

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really hate this is sort of defeatist, weak-minded thought process. 'Just give up, and accept'...to hell with that. Imagine if that line of thinking had been applied throughout history.

PhillinLA - it doesn't hurt to see a dude bust a mid-range jumper either.

Watching Wilson Chandler gain confidence could be a thing of beauty

Renaldo changes things without needing the ball in his hands

Nichols has a nice stroke.

Bonus Rookie Randolph had a nifty double-double.

They shared the ball and even won a game. I don't care if it's half-court three-on-three or game six of the conference finals. Winning is a good habit.

If Balkman plays great is he going to get more minutes than jefferies? This is a reason to not be optimistic. If Frye plays awful in summer league, the preseason and lee is a stud, is isiah going to start lee like he did last year......

Isiah's late picks are exactly what late picks should be solid role players. Which I think Lee, Collins, Balkman, and Nicholas are. They are low cost need players that have skills to add to a starting unit.

But when your coach doesn't coach and plays favorites all bets are off. Crawford was terrible on half the nights he played and always is, he doesn't play defense but he is out there 36 minutes a night.

If Isiah does this, we have a chance to be a very good team this season

Marbury/Collins
Q/Crawford
Balkman/Nichlos
Randolf/Lee
Curry

I think you have to makea decision Nate or Jamal, I would choose nate because crawford doesn't improve anything, his body, his shooting his defense, every year much like eddy its the same ****. Balkman and Lee produce victories. Gang bangers who don't give effort and just use talent are on every team, we happen to have 4 of them on our squad. Players that go balls to the wall like lee and balkman always find a way to outshine players like this. We need to make a few moves to get rid of players that don't try on defense. You don't want to give the effort, **** you you don't play. But isiah doesn't have that attitude, he praises players and gives them the green light and doesn't demand it. If he actually would coach the team and play the right players i would be happy with our squad and i would be excited about filling role minutes with summer league players

COS, it was a summerleague game dude. These games are played at a ridiculous pace and its hard to tell what players can really do.

That is true BUT you can also see guys skills sets.

Nichols nailing long range jumpers is a skill. That skill is not likely to change.

Balks defense is a skill. That is not likely to change.

I definitely agree about Nichols shooting, I stated so in the game-thread.

He could be and thats why I said so.
I actually thought that even before last nights game though.
I would not be shocked if he gets some time ahead of Chandler since we needs outside shooters.

Ever notice people that avoid a question only do so because they hate to acknowledge the truth?

Yup because 1 game is the truth.

Why dont you just answer the question as posed instead of all this spin?

Hey LIRR boy: If Durant had put up 50 (as you wished for) would you have a different take on last nights game??? Wouldnt all of Isiah's bad moves for the future been the source for several posts by you today??? I'm just saying that when people flame you for being wrong (even if it is just one game) maybe you should just get the KY, spread em & take it like a Hockey fan.

Point/Counterpoint

MS - "But isiah doesn't have that attitude, he praises players and gives them the green light and doesn't demand it."

"It's safe to say any player I've coached has had times [where] we didn't get along," (Thomas) said. "There are times where they don't like me. But that's OK. I'm not trying to be liked. I'm trying to coach them.

yes thomas has proven to be a man of principal over there, he has a pending lawsuit hanging over the franchise and half of the coaches an exs don't really favor him.

He was changed plans and rosters about 3 times, and we had some injuries otherwise the knicks would have been in the playoffs

Marco Bellini put up 37pts in his first game and 23pts in his second game and no one on this board went Hog Wild over it.

Draft express SL Knicks analysis

Wilson Chandler had a strong debut for the Knicks, showing confidence and solid form on his outside shot out to NBA three-point range, converting on two shots from around 18 feet in the game.
-Chandler finished well in transition, getting out on a few occasions, and starting a few breaks himself with weakside steals.
-Chandler played good, tough defense in general, making a few deflections leading to turnovers in addition to his picks.

Demetris Nichols
13 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 1 turnover, 6-12 FG, 1-5 3PT, 0-1 FT

-Demetris Nichols hit a bunch of shots early, then cooled off as the game went on, showing how dangerous he can be from outside when he gets hot.
-Nichols looks more comfortable with his handle, scoring with his left hand on a left-handed drive on one occasion, and putting the ball on the floor on a few others as well.
-Nichols ran the floor very well, getting ahead of the pack in transition every chance he got, and finishing well at the rim when he got the ball.

Renaldo Balkman
10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal, 4 turnovers, 5-10 FG

-Renaldo Balkman played a typical hustle game, chasing down loose rebounds and making deflections, while finishing at the rim when he got the opportunity.
-Balkman missed on his sole outside shot attempt of the game, and got all of his points right near the basket, on cuts or putbacks.

Randolph Morris
10 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, 4 turnovers, 5-7 FG, 0-3 FT

-Randolph Morris showed a nice assortment of moves in the post, including a hook shot, turnaround jumper, and pull-up jumper, all with range out to around eight feet.
-Morris also did a good job on the boards, using his size and boxing out his man well.
-Morris struggled from the free-throw line, missing on all three of his attempts, something he should definitely be working on as a post-oriented big.

Nate Robinson
19 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, 7 turnovers, 6-11 FG, 2-4 3PT, 5-5 FT

-Nate Robinson looked spectacular at times and pretty bad at others, showing both sides of his dynamic game.
-Robinson hit on some tough outside shots and made some very impressive drives to the hoop, finishing on floaters, scoop shots, and one very impressive full 360 degrees spin lay-up in transition on one occasion.
-Robinson did a good job on the drive-and-dish in the halfcourt and pushing the ball in transition, but was also very turnover-prone, something that has been a problem for him in the past.

MS - did you say "man of principal"?

LaRussa gets popped for DUI during Spring Training and loses a player to a fatal DUI wreck in May.

Bobby Cox beat his wife and has been tossed from more baseball games than anyone in history.

I watched Billy Martin start a fight on a team bus after a game in Baltimore. Crazy stuff.

Hubie Brown cursed John Drew at home, as an "egg-sucking dog" during a timeout, loud enough to be heard thorugh the entire arena

Yes, Isiah Thomas is the debbil

happy now?

My point is proven...the usual suspects are defensive and lashing out.

I dont need to see a list of all the summer league "studs" who didnt pan out, because there is always an inverse list. Point being that positivity shouldn't have an immediate wet blanket thrown on it. Dismissing a player after one summer league game is not the same thing as being encouraged by one summer league game.

This is combined with the fact that these are low risk, high reward players. The initial post was couched in potentials and a proper context. (although even at #23, Chandler is still somewhat of a controversial pick that Zeke will have to justify)

Nobody is putting these players in the hall of fame, all cossucks is doing is spreading some positive vibes. Overreaction is message board currency, might as well be positive and productive.

that's not true at all. look at the thread title. cossucks was using a single summer league game as ammunition in the hater-lover dispute. predictably, the usual suspects took the bait. all the rest of us can (or probably, should) do is sit back and watch. i plan to enjoy this debate over the last few hours of "work"

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really hate this is sort of defeatist, weak-minded thought process. 'Just give up, and accept'...to hell with that. Imagine if that line of thinking had been applied throughout history.

there are really some childish responses to this thread. Sometimes the level of conversation gets taken down a few notches with some posters in here. I think the intended purpose of this post was not to annoint, chandler and nichols as superstars or to downgrade durant to scrub status, but somehow this is what the conversation has become. I feel safe to say that some of you guys have resorted to moronic and idiotic remarks, just to make sure that you let everyone know how displeased you are with the knicks. well guess what? we get it, and really don't give a got damn, move on, stop hijacking threads with such nonsense...

back to the topic at hand. Yes I think Isiah did a good job with the picks, chandler and nichols looked great, as did balkman, morris was solid, there were some other standout players, I like that stuckey kid from detroit, I think he is going to be a player in this league one day....
