see, that's the very mentality that Isiah used to put this team together... he's always just looking at the talent & not considering at all how that talent fits together to build a winning team, or the ramifications that it has on our longterm flexibility to make other moves... obviously you're thinking right along with Isiah, so go on & support the move if that's what floats your boat... history teaches others than his moves haven't worked out the way we wished it would & it might be time to reverse the strategy & stop taking on all these undesirable contracts every time we make a trade.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

The Marbury trade when he did that to make playoffs and impress Dolan or whatever I understood even though we overpaid.

But dating back to the 05 draft is where he really started messing up bad. From signing James 5yrs 30mil instead of the way cheaper less risk Diop. Because James had more potential to try and win now even though his baggage outweighed(no pun intended) his potential. Passing on Bynum for Frye because Bynum wasn't ready to win right away which is all we seem to care about. Trading Penny & Ariza for Francis. Signing Jefferies for five yrs 30mil. Thats his downfall to me.

I don't get it either because with Diop, Bynum, Lee, & Ariza he would have bought himself way more time and patience by almost everyone. He put himself on the hot seat. Isiah seems to be smooth talking enough to get Dolan to follow his plans. So why did he screw himself by trying to make risky win now moves??

Because he's an arrogant prick, whose ego far outweighs his accomplishments as an NBA executive.

on a side note, per blazers press conference, nate mcmillan says lamarcus is the starting pf and oden is the starting center. he mentions some players but not once does nate talk about frye. he says they should be able to run more b/c they are better defensively.

Nate doesn't give free passes, you have to earn his respect but Pritchard mentioned Frye staying in the fold. Defensively Frye is going to have to bring it or else Nate will treat him worse than Larry or even I SAY UGH for the matter.

If Isiah didn't make the move. The same guys talking about how great it is would be saying how smart Isiah is for staying away and looking for cap flexability instead. Talking about patience. It would require more patience to take the cap space route then the Randolph route. So who really are the ones with patience?

Its almost like people are trained to like whatever move Isiah does. No matter what it is.

When Isiah first came in and made moves like the Marbury deal comming off the Layden era I was excited and showed patience and supported all his moves. Even showed patience for Mo Taylor & Jerome James even though I hated those moves. But it hasn't brought us any success. So at what point do we learn from our mistakes.

Go for salary cap space, keep your draft picks. If we suck there is still a shot to win the lotto or a top 3 pick and possibly land a franchise player. Plus the shot to land a true superstar in free agency. If we don't we would still be in great position. Thats 2 seprate ways we would have been attacking a franchise player. The problem is Isiah has screwed up the last 3 yrs so he can't afford have another non playoff season. So he made the move trying to save his job rather than whats best for the Knicks.

After the last couple of yrs of losing its not up to us to give them patience anymore. Its up to this organization to win and earn our patience back by winning. If Isiah were to balance the roster by moving Curry & Crawford for better fits I would give him more patience. But he will probably be content with very talented unbalanced lineup.

Just like there are a bunch of posters who hate everything Isiah, no matter what it is.

Here's the difference. Those posters explain exactly why they think something that Isiah does, won't work. And then it inevitably doesn't work out.

The lovers are left to make excuses for why it didn't work and spin about how it's all a part of Isiah's grand plan.
