When the season began did you honestly feel that Jefferies was the third or fourth best option at those respective positions?

No, I didn't know jack about Balkman then. It would have taken me a whole 2 days to learn that Balkman needed to play and Jared needed to watch, though.

So you never watch Jefferies before?

huh?

^^^ LOL, I can see that coming.

Last Year Curry got 30, Lee got 30 and Fry got 20. You are crazy if you think Lee isn't Frye this year to Isaih. Best way I can put it.

Francis and Frye averages 54.4 mpg
Zach will take about 35 mpg
That leaves 19.4mpg for maybe Balkman (increased to his 15mpg),Dickau or Jones
Quentin and Marbury will receive less money due to lingering injurues
I do not see where David Lee, sixth man of the year candidate (who can play the 3,4, and 5) 29.8 mpg are affected

This is just looking for something to complain about. It's because Isiah made this trade. If West had made the same deal they'd not look at it so negatively. Lee is one of ISIAH's players, he picked him and so far he hasn't traded him. I believe that he's high up on the depth chart despite not starting. Sixth men aren't less valueable because they don't start. Often times there's a guy that is starting that isn't as productive but is starting for the sake of the team having better balance. Lee isn't being dissed and his minutes shouldn't be diminished by much if any at all.

Isiah seems like he's learned from last year that he must trim his rotation and I believe he will.

The bolded part is absolutely true. But there is a reason it is true. West's moves more often than not pay off well or prove to be good moves. The moves that Isiah makes usually prove to be the exact opposite when it comes to trades.

It's all about reputation, and both West and Isiah have both done enough to earn their respective reputations.

Lee will play 25 to 30 minutes a game. Inside there will be 96 minutes per game. Randolph and Curry will get 35 minutes and Lee will get 27 min. I really dont see Jeffires or James getting any minutes inside. Lee also will get a few minutes at the three if need me. Every team wants Lee and IT had ever chance to trade him and still does. Either trade him or play him

I think the only way Lee goes anywhere is A) for Kobe or B) packaged with Curry for a higher impact frontcourt player. There are only handful of available players that fit that description.

Lee should be getting 30 minutes as the starting forward and this trade has killed that.

Lee is not a defensive change of pace or a rebounding change from Zach. And if you learned anything from this season, Isiah does not play who deserves to play, he plays who fits what ever move he has to justify. So you are crazy if you think JJ2 and Q aren't playing at the three....... or Isiah isn't going to run collins or nate or Fred jones on the court with Al bundy and JC. So that limits minutes at the small forward spot.

Then we have two bad to subpar defensive players in the front court who are going to be getting 65-70 minutes a game. Any coach worth his salt would want at lease one defensive player in his Front court rotation. Lee can get better, but I wouldn't call him Defensive. So how is Lee going to get 30minutes a game??? That means we won't play another player in the front and not insert a defensive minded player at the four at all for 48 minutes???

It's clear as day Lee is going to be playing a smaller role then he deserves and so is balkman. Too many 6million dollar salaries to justify. Looking into trading Lee is not a terrible thought.

Dlee will get his minutes. He, Crawford and QRich were the MVPs of this team last year. That won't change this year, unless maybe Balkman becomes part of it, too.

Artest will be a time bomb here. You think Artest will be happy being the 4th option on offense? I don't.

Give me Balkman and Lee and Chandler at SF over Artest, especially if we're gonna overpay for him.

If Dolan plan to get some money for jerseys the only one possibility is Lee.
Z-bo "hoops family" will by some but not to much...
So no trade for Lee. he will stuck in NY until contract time. And then he is out.
As far as minutes - all minutes after Z-bo and Eddy will be in foul trouble, fouled out, tired because of overweight and on back-to-backs are for Lee. He will also be there for them in case of very likely injuries.
So - no worry

I don't think there is anyway you trade David Lee unless you get Greg Odom straight up. He has character, talent, is a leader and plays the right way. He might have been a lottery pick if he went into the draft after high school. He is the only untouchable on the Knicks roster.

Anji - if Isiah is playing politics with player minutes as you claim, then why isn't there more discord in the locker room?

don't you think the players would talk to the press, or play without passion, or even revolt, if minutes were handed out as party favors?

don't you think the players would talk to the press,

They would get bought out.
or play without passion

A good portion of them do.
or even revolt

Kinda like Marbury and Q and Nate getting into fights with teammates and Zach punching teammates in the eye socket?
