If Chicago was interested in giving up that package for Zach, they would have called Portland and made an offer as soon as word of the Knicks deal was in the public. Chicago is a very intelligently run organization. They've gotten RID OF attitude players who were soft, one-dimensional, and/or problems in the locker rooms (E-Rob, Jamal, Eddy). They've rebuilt with hard-working, versatile, two-way players with good contracts. They know better than to go after Zach. That would be subtraction by addition to their roster.

First off, Chicago did not want to get rid of Eddy. He had a potential heart condition but would not take their tests so they were forced to give him up. E-Rob is a joke and Jamal was let go because they got Jay (before he was hurt). So your suggestion that Chicago would not want Zack is not supported by the evidence you cited. Yeah they like defensive players, but they did not get anywhere with those players in the playoffs and that is not likely to change next year. They need a low post scorer and Zack is one of the best low post scorers in the league. The Bulls slipped on this one waiting on KG and Kobe.

It's amazing how polarizing this trade has become. I honestly didn't think it would get this bad. I thought for sure that at least on some level most fans would recognize that we improved as a team. To hear some people around here you'd think we got worse.

Who exactly in the East is so head and shoulders better that we don't have a shot? As you project this team over the next few years it looks like we have a team that can grow and get better. There are always risks, even on a team like Chi. Just cuz we have Zach doesn't mean we're destined to have some kind of implosion.

34 for
21 against
6 wait and see
Maybe not as polarizing as you think.

Looks to me like the majority is either in support or taking a wait-and-see attitude.

to get eddy, this dominant low post center, isiah gave up 2 lotto picks and 2 2nd rounders and alot of people defended it. arguments were used that these type of players are not easy to get and you would give up 2 picks any time for him.

meanwhile, 2 years later, we get a low post player BETTER than eddy and we got him for francis + frye.

it's funny how things play out.

I find it pretty telling that you say we gave up "2 lotto picks and 2 2nd rounders" and fail to factualy state that we received back a first round pick (#23) as part of that swap.

So let me ask you did you honestly not know that we swapped 2007 draft picks or were you trying to spin your post and deceive people?

So Which is it DJ?

No need to insinuate duplicity. He is factually correct, we did "give up two lottery picks" and 2 second rounders, as he said, regardless of the fact that we got the 23rd pick back on the deal.

So let me ask you did you honestly not know that, or were you trying to spin your post and deceive people?

So Which is it COSSUCKS?

There is no regardless of us getting the 23rd pick as a swap. You either tell the whole truth or you are not telling the truth. You cant say we gave them a 2007 first round pick and ignore the fact that they also gave us a 2007 first round pick. If you do then you are not telling the whole truth.

You also are factually correct. But you could have made the correction without implying malice was at hand. It can be cumbersome to be explicitly accurate every time one mentions a trade; and even when you are someone will then tell you that "actually player X was traded for player Y and a draft pick, and that pick turned into player Z, who was then traded for player A", and it goes on and on. DJ's point was that we gave up two lottery picks in the Curry deal (and that's a fact. #2 and #9) but zero picks in this deal. Factual completness, (that we got a low pick in return on the Curry deal) while proper, useful, and appreciated, is of minor relevance to the significance of his point. So trying to use that as a vehicle to assault his character really says more about your own.

Man the hatred for IT runs deep on this site. 5 years ago this team was a bunch of OLD, SLOW, INJURY PRONE OVERPAID STIFFS. Now you have a group of young athlethic youngsters who like to play for their coach and you guys cant stand that. All you guys can do all day is be critical of every move and never see any good in anything IT does. That's a pity. I like to look in time to time to catch up on Knick happenings but some of you guys are just too depressing to take. Every move is a bad one. Damn.

u probably need to check in more often because there has been plenty of support thrown Isiah's way for other decisions he's made like his draft choices by myself & others who don't necessarily support this Zach trade.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
