i agree... i think the Knicks will be willing to give as many picks as they can to get Kobe, & i don't see Chicago being willing to do that, nor give up the young players it would take to get Kobe AND pay his trade kicker in his contract... IMO, the Lakers' best & only option is to trade with the Knicks.

if Kobe's truly unhappy, he can ruin the season for them next year & then leave them hanging high & dry... how is that a better option for them than risking the fans' ire by trading Kobe to the Knicks?

They'll likely be a Lottery team like they were his first yr as a Solo Artist. You know that lead to getting Bynum. They can also trade Kwame and/or Odom next season for picks or young talent and rebuild why Kobe pouts and turns on the fans. Kobe almost has Zilch leverage.

how does that possibly help the Lakers? they'd be better off getting as many young players & future picks as they can get & moving forward... Kobe's never going to be happy as long as they're in rebuild mode... trade Kwame? can they get a bag of balls for him at this point? & they can trade Odom regardless if Kobe's there or not... what does that have anything to do w/Kobe's leverage?

i always get scared when i hear that we're willing to give up more than any other team, especially a pretty well-managed one.

i could personally care less if Isiah gave up unprotected picks for the next 5 years to get Kobe... our first priority right now MUST be to get a legitimate superstar player on this team to pair up w/Eddy Curry... everything after that is secondary consideration as far as i'm concerned... Kobe is in the prime of his career & will be the best player in the NBA for years to come... guys like him don't just come along in the draft every year... if you have any possible way to get him, you do it, case closed.

We have no possible way of getting him. Case is closed.

It's my opinion that Kobe's a prick, but I nonetheless hope that he'll be a Knick.

But I don't think he will be, so I answered "No".

I thought the question was "Do you think Kobe will be a Knickerbocker?" not "Would you like Kobe to be a Knickerbocker?"

both!

Man, you can't see a poll without ****ing it up.

This poll is useless. People are just voting with their heart not their head.

This poll would be practically 45-0 in favor of Kobe if it was "Do you want Kobe"

Mark Jackson voice: C'mon guys. You're better than that...

What is he going to do? Start throwing games and missing on purpose? You think he'd have ANY fans left if he did? Tis guy is obsessed with greatness. If anything, he will play BETTER angry.

? So you're saying people's "hearts" say he won't come (by a 33-12 margin) but their "minds" say he will?

those 12 votes are suspect is what i'm saying. i'd love to vote yes. but realistically its highly unlikely Kobe will be a knickerbocker. Why? We don't have enough for the Lakers to make it worth their while. And the Lakers can sit back and try to improve their team and change Kobe's mind.

I'd answer yes to the question in the title of this thread--yes, in 2014 after his third microfracture surgery!

I been following some of the chicago press and some of them seem to think Kobe would cost the bulls too much.
I'll never trust this' team again.

The best time to go for something like this is 'when it's on the table calling your name'! He's asking for help and all the Knicks have to do is keep throwing the bait out there. There are a few ways the knicks can make this work. A few buy outs, along with a couple of young guys is one way and I think the best way at this point. You almost have' to buy out a little to make room for the salary. Personally, I'd buyout starbury, send him and throw in Frye, Nate and the #23. The best part for L.A. is they have instant money from the buyout. I say why not? The Knicks over the years ended up having to pay off Houston, Larry Johnson and Luc Longley. They paid starbury a huge amount of money for virtually nothing at all, not to mentiion his fued with Brown costing the Knicks to have to give up Larry which cost them (you guessed it) millions and millions more. The point is, these guys are the main bulk of the huge debt the Knicks have accumulated. Now I ask each and every one of you. Were any of them worth all of that money? Were any of them a sure thing? Absolutely not! Now I pose this question. Is' Kobe Bryant worth every cent the Knicks would pay him? You bet and Dolan would make a great deal of his lost money back, if he were to let Thomas make this investment. I keep saying that the Knicks needs to let things run out and save the money, but it doesn't happen, so with the free irresponsible spending that goes on, the huge debt that just keeps getting worse and worse, why not make it worth it for once?
I'll never trust this' team again.
