He's human. He has the right to change his mind. The idea of being an NBA headcoach and making on that money sounds great. But once it settled in, I guess he realized his heart was in college. He now has a chance to build a legacy in Gainesville. The next generation of coach K. In the NBA, he would be nothig more than an average NBA coach in a players league.

You can't do this in business and not expect repercussions and a heavy hit to your reputation. If there was ANY chance for doubt, take longer, don't just accept and then change your mind. It's wrong! Let alone the fact that the ******* signed a contract.

Additionally, he is an ******* for doing this without a damn good explanation. It certainly has to be more than "having doubts".
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

This is totally unprofessional. That's why during negotiations they have what's called a verbal commitment and that's all he should have done if he still had doubts. The guy had a while to think about this anyway because he was offered the Griz job and immediately said no, he said no to the Kentucky offer so he knows how to say no or at the very least give himself some time.

I hope Orlando gets some good compensation out of him or Folrida and I hope Florida flops next yr.

I'm not saying he shouldn't take a hit for this. Yes it was unprofessional and Orlando should be compensated.

But we have seen this many times before and I'm sure we will see many times more in the future.

Larry Brown stiffed Davidson a while back

Bill Belichick (sp) stiffed my beloved Jets etc....

And all should know that they acted unprofessionally. This situation is worse because of the signed contract, but it's terrible to step back on your word and shows poor character. Terrible.

Fuck Belichick.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System
