I actually see Thomas extending Marbury as well as I see Marbury taking a paycut to be a part of this team. Reality has to set in for him, no one is going to give him big dollars any more, and he should take the approach of a veteran trying to help his hometown team and be apart of the solution not the problem.

Bottom line is I don't trust Isiah, what he says, AND what he does.

I mean, jesus ****in christ, if we had ATLEAST that lotto pick this year we could've used it for JO, or Kobe, or Gasol, or anyone.

Some deadbrain fans won't see it, but he's slowly killing this orginization.

LOL, listen to this:

Before you guys were mad at him taking the gamble and risking the picks (which was stupid) but it has since paid off because we know its not Durant or Oden. All of a sudden, now we're mad because somehow, the 9th pick was going to land us Kobe or KG or soft Gasol.
Really you people are unbelievable, We talk about Eddy Curry the same way we talk about the rookies, if he keeps improving watch out. Yet because, it took him a little longer to start blooming we are ready to give up. Honestly in a few years, Eddy will be top talent in the league as far as big men go. Don't give me the crap about his previous 6 years BS, If he comes in and has another good year next year. Are you people ready to give up the props or will you continue to fantasize about 1.9% chance we had of winning the lottery. Totally bogus to me.

Man, if we had our pick we would have rested Marbury, not made Lee play through injury, etc. and probably had the 5th or sixth slot, giving us Oden or Durant.

2 questions:

1. is there a player on the roster today better than stephon marbury was at 26 when we acquired him?

2. can isiah thomas get a player today better than stephon marbury was at 26 when we acquired him?

My question is, with all of the crap Isiah has had to endure after acquiring a Stephon Marbury, why would he do it again?

You ask these convoluted questions because the obvious question and its equally obvious answer loudly contradict your contention.

1(and only one). Does this team have a brighter future now than when Isiah took over?

Yes.

You don't think Isiah could acquire a Stephon Marbury now? Not so sure. We have young desirable prospects, and I'm confident that if Isiah was willing to put David Lee on the table (just as an example) we would be in serious contention for JO's services. I don't think the rumors of including Frye and Balkman in a package for Vince Carter is crazy talk either.

I don't know if the plan now is to get under the cap. If we really are trying to sign-and-trade Rashard Lewis, then probably not. But if we were to adopt that as a plan we are in a much better position to actually do that now than we were 3 1/2 years ago. Our worst long-term contract now is attached to a moveable 27 year old 17ppg guard, remember. A far cry from the Layden years.

Speaking of being right, Islesfan...I predicted 6 years ago that this franchise was sunk for a long time when it made the long-term commitment to build the team around Allan Houston. Hey, I was right.

But who the F cares? I'm a Knick fan, you see. And there are guys on this team I can root for. Sorry we aren't the San Antonio Spurs, but life can be rough, you know?

And if that life is so consumed by hatred of a person you don’t even know…then frankly, you should get one.

Rembee I beat you to it because I called it the day we made the run to the finals in 1999. I said something to the effect of

"We have to win it, because if we don't this is the worst thing that could happen to our future. I am convinced that seeing Latrell and Allan and camby make this great run has convinced management that we can win a title without Patrick. In NY we can rebuild, we will just refuse to"

I didn't think I was a psychic until I was called a loser and a jerk and in response to yet another good riddance Patrick post I said:

"Latrell and Allan are great but we simply cannot win without our 15 year franchise guy leading the way. This run, was a false run and you will slowly see us slip into mediocrity continually finding stopgaps to convince the fans that we are "one player away from a title". Instead of winning games we will fill seats as fans are fooled. We will talk everyday about who we can get that will bring us a title. But their is no magic elixir. Our franchise guy is gone and we have to start over, like every other team does when an era ends. We act like it's not a big deal that Patrick is gone, but I hope everyone enjoys the next 5 years of the Eric Montross' and Travis Knights of the world."

I'm F'in psychic.
