I actually expect bigger and better from him as well. In the real world you can criticize and expect more at the same time. In lala land you cannot, I guess. I think Curry stepped up how hard he worked this offseason and that was a good sign. I noticed that too. Many people did. But to be a leader and franchise player you cannot just step up your game. You have to be the hardest worker on the team.. If you think he is one of the harder workers on the court and the team than I feel you are SETTLING. All you have to do is focus on his defensive effort for 5 minutes on the court and you know he isn't giving his all. 5-7 rebounds a game the past two seasons. Less rebounds than when JKidd was here. Can't beleive you don't have a problem with that

Comments directed toward those who gleefully imagine Eddy downing brownies during the off-season...you are no hater, Bip, for that I respect you.

I said he is a hard worker. You promised me you would puke if I did, so I stepped up. Then your reply essentially agrees with me. Please don't tell me you are "one of those".

Unbelievably, I do have a problem with that, and never said I didn't. What separates us, Bip, is that you think it is only a matter of effort, I think there are other factors. I also think it’s overstated as a problem (overstated in that there are 224 posts per day here bringing it up, as opposed to like 12). 22-8 and 1 are attainable numbers for the big man and those are all-star numbers.

Overall, notice I said that Curry hasn't taken up that leadership mantle yet, though he’ll soon have to. No, he is probably not the hardest working guy on the court, even if he might be off of it. Am I SETTLING if I see in Curry an intelligent kid working hard to improve his game? Nope, because believe you me I'll be on him if he doesn't.

Not that I'll ever post fat pictures to demonstrate my displeasure, 'cause that’s just idiotic.

One minor correction. I'm far from gleeful about it.

Actually I said I would puke if you said he was a hard worker. You did and so did I. What we agree on is a completely different topic and that is that we think Eddie can improve. Two different topics, but as I've learned from posting with you, often times that doesn't matter.

We keep talking about Eddie's offense. Oh he could average 22 and 8. I don't care if he stays at 19 pts or averages 25. What's important, and what will affect wins for us immediately is for him to give an effort on the boards and defensively. He is the biggest and strongest player 99% of the time on the floor. He has a rebounding advantage over every player that walks on the floor. He should average more rebounds than he does. And if he gave an honest effort, he would. He should be already averaging 19 and 10, and until he does, the criticism will not go away. 7 rebounds for one of the strongest, and athletic players in teh game is inexcusable. Except by you of course.

I'm pretty sure the coaches will be hounding him to rebound better and will tell him to do many of the things I want him to do. They will not just sit back and hope that age will simply make him better. They will harp on him until he does. Coaches think alike my friend.

So, You don’t dispute that Curry was doing the things I said he did, and in my mind that’s hard work. You disagree, bully for you. We agree he needs to work harder on the court.

And please, again, stop the “Rembee has low standards and is excusing Curry’s low rebounding” shtick. It’s misrepresenting my position. You have a tendency to do that, I’ve learned this since posting with you.

The thing I loved about 1999 run was the announcer at the garden during INTRO'S When he said the names Larry Johnson and Latrell Sprewell that always got me a"AMPED" for the games. Even the Uni's carried a "SWAGGER" back then.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Again you are putting your thoughts and words into my head to try to prove a point that you and I disagree on. IN comparison to how hard Eddie has worked in the past, he definitely worked harder in the offseason. But that's like saying 33 wins is a good thing in comparison to 23.

To be a franchise player or leader, Eddie needs to become the hardest working player on the team. And in my view he is far from that. I am not satisfied with how he works ON or OFF the court. His being out of shape down the stretch led to his frustration. His lack of rebounding is appalling for a guy his size. Cannot beleive people defend it.

It reminds me a lot of when fans used to biotch about Stephon's defense. We used to hear all kinds of excuses about his feet not being quick enough. Bad knees. No PG's can be guarded. The same crew making excuses for Eddie were making excuses for STeph(I'm sure you will take this personally but I am not referring to you, because I have no idea what you were saying about Steph). Jerks like me were saying everyday that his D could improve overnight. That he simply wasn't working hard enough on the defensive end. Taht his knees and lack of lateral quickness were feeble excuses. Magically overnight last year his feet became quicker, his knees healed on defense and PG's suddenly could be guarded. Same goes for Eddie. When he starts working on the boards he will become a better rebounder immediately. All the rest of the talk in this regard is just an excuse. He can take the entire summer off and eat cookies 5 times a day and still come back and be a better rebounder next year if he decides to put in that effort on the floor.

IF you have NBA league pass you would have heard 3 or 4 different announcing crews in different cities comment on how much weight eddie had put on since they saw him earlier in the year.
