The top prospects right now are all wing players too
There's this guy... of course, the Zach trade ensures we'll be just good enough not to have a snowball's chance in hell of landing a pick to get him... sorta like deja vu all over again, ain't it.
I really hope it's true that he wants to go and not some kind of a strange ploy. I would love it... if he goes, I'm calling it, the year after Cancerbury is gone, we're a 50 win team.
I agree, Collins becomes the starter and puts up 14 ppg | 6 rpg | 6 apg | 2 spg

some Knick fans accept mediocrity as excellence .... I don't!

Stern Magic? Dude, we've been begging for Stern Magic for years now and I think he's proven he's not going to favor us which is what he's supposed to be doing anyway. We have to make our own Magic.
Actually, that Marbury being injured thing isn't so out of whack. Not saying I hope it happens, b/c I don't, but if he's out of shape AND his body is breaking down, it's just begging for him to have a big injury. He might not even last the next two years, let alone play in Italy when his contract is over.

It's not really a thought. I think it's a guarantee that Marbury will be looking for an extension and most likely this year as you said. If Marbury can't get one he's going to go back to being Starbury to get his numbers back up as he looks for another payday.
Does anyone think Marbury wants his 8 figure paychecks to stop anytime soon?
I don't necessary agree. This could happen, but the true measure of a PG is the wins and losses. I think IT is teaching Marbury that. If Marbury wants a big payday, his best chance of getting it is to take the Knicks deep into the playoffs and show than he can be a championship level pg.

Stern magic - only happens when a club is going out of business- or in dire trouble of going out of business. See San Antonio with Duncan, Orlando with Penny and Shaq, Portland with Oden, Seattle getting the number two pick etc. If the pattern continues - look for Memphis to get the first pick of the draft- where they pick up Thabeet and another pick for say D. Rose.
As for Marbury- like Curry - he did have one good year - and so you can't say he hasn't done 'anything'. I think when we read in the summer of ho he is going to Italy - and how he is one of the few guards in the NBA to average 20 pts/9 assists etc- it was a public volley to let people know - he did NOT get the extension he wanted.
It has been proven ---now-that this team needs a PG-and that Crawford will never be one - in a true sense- and that the other Knicks players -don't have enough ball handling, driving and passing ability to make up for the deficit. Marbury at say a mid-level exception would be a worthwhile risk.
It could happen - and I think that if his bone spur are really taken care of , his attitude has actually under gone some positive change - then he would be the factor that propels this team to the playoffs.
Personally - I don't like Mardy's game. He can barely shoot, is not a great ball handler, is not even a very good finisher and is turn over prone . Of all the deficits I see turnovers as the one that might have improvement- but he is not going to develop a shot, learn how to drive and finish etc at the NBA level anytime soon.
As for PGs out there - there are only Bibby and Miler- both being paid 9-11 million. The draft is always a crap shoot - we have seen our share of Sebastian Telfair's , Adam Morrison, Kwame Brown - that no matter how tantlizing or dominant players were/are in college - it means squat at the pro level.
