What about energy drinks? One energy drink a day vs. a cup of coffee. Is the coffee better?
Give this product a try:
http://www.biotestsupplements.net/products/spike.html
Biotest makes the best athletic supplements. If you're trying to get a lot of work done or want a good, intense workout, or want to kick ass playing basketball, Spike will give you tremendous energy and focus. Most energy drinks are just junk with a lot of caffeine.

I think most sports nutrition stores in the US sell Biotest products but I'm not sure. In Canada, I get it at a chain called Sports Nutrition Depot but I'm not sure if that store exists in the US. I definitely wouldn't recommend taking it or any stimulant *every* day, though.

I don't take it for the energy as much as the jolt. I have sleeping problems often and it's hard to function through a full day of work without some caffeine. Plus I'm kind of addicted to the taste of Monster.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Spike will give you a solid jolt. It enhances mood and energy. It also has some Yohimbine, and will make you horny.

I'll start intense dieting, and it will work really well for about five days. I overdo it though, which really sets you up for failure. Then the spirit of Jerome James comes over me and this happens

I'm definitely working on getting in shape. I peaked at 220+ last May. Got down to < 180 in November. Now the weight is going the other way and I'm 190+. I need to reverse directions again.

As far as measuring body fat I have a scale that measures body fat. My understanding is they are not terribly accurate but do indicate direction correctly - so the absolute number may not be correct but generally if you lose or gain body fat the scale will show it.

I run consistently, play some soccer and bike - once in a rare while I play hoop and I've just started rock climbing. For upper body I mostly just do pullups, pushups and other calisthenic type stuff and will occasionally do some lifting. For me the exercise is necessary but I don't lose weight unless I work on the eating end of the equation also. Last year to lose weight I ate hardly any bread or foods dense in fat and very little refined sugars. It was not a low carb diet but I tried to get my carbs in whole grains. I'm not good at managing how much I eat so it's easier for me to manage what I eat and avoid certain foods altogether.

I'm be interested in hearing how everyone makes out.

If you want some great workouts checkout http://www.crossfit.com If you decide to do these - I advice starting slowly. I do them occasionally - but it's beyond my conditioning level to follow the program.

I lose about 5 pounds or more on the can after work.

Well the whole point of me posting threads like this is to get guys and gals motivated to getting in shape.

We are all out of shape cuz of life. We don't have time to play a game 365 days a year like an athlete. We can on the other hand enjoy some degree of fitness.

Hey, where are the females? Bitty, Queenie, enysis? They rarely post as much as the guys do on a daily basis so.....maybe they are on to something, lol.

In 04 I was a whopping 280!!!! I didn't realize it until I saw some wedding pictures and was like, IS THAT ME?!?!?

I dropped 30 just by controlling my portions, no excercise or anything.

But my weight has fluctuated and Im up at 27-something again.

I have a weight bench and weights in my house and every sunday I say I'm gonna start on monday, yet somehow magically it doesn't happen.

Well here is my plan, lift wieghts, build some muscle, and do some cardio.

Tommorow it begins!!!!!

If you need a partner let me know.

I say this as I scarf down a chipotle veggie burrito. I did go to the gym and did legs and cardio so it was well deserved.

I'm not sure if you got a veggie burrito because you are a vegetarian or because you thought you were eating healthy... anyway, I barely eat there anymore after seeing the nutrition facts. http://www.chipotlefan.com/index.php?id=nutrition_calculator

Just plug in what you got on it and see for yourself.

^ If you select all the options (one freakin' large burrito), you get 175g of fat and 355g of carbs.

If it was fat free it wouldn't be yummy for my tummy.

Its all in fun. Its not about looking like a super model. Its about getting active and more healthy.

So if we drink enough beer hopefully we will kill most of the bacteria in our bodies. That's always nice.

Count me in. This is a great topic and challenge.

I need to be held accountable. It helps when other people know what your goals are and can call you out on them to see if your hitting them.

I'm not concerned about losing pounds either. I'm more concerned about loosing body fat. I have a considerable amount around the mid-section. But in order to determine a goal, i need to first find out how much body fat I have. I'm going to work on doing that in the next few days. Once I have my number I'll set a target and would love it if you guys would check on me!

In the meantime, I've been working out strong for the last two weeks. I do about a half an hour to 45 minutes of cardio after weights. I'm looking to build muscle in my legs, loose fat in my midsection, and sculpt my arms. My arms are naturally muscular actually very muscular. For a girl that's not really cool. So those are part of my goals! Help me stick with them.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

I've been walking and riding my desk exercise bike during lunch. I got this exercise bike that fits under my desk a few months ago. Kinda cool, let's me use the computer and exercise at the same time. The next step is killing off the carbonated energy drinks and getting my girlfriend to cook healthier. I told her last night she has to cook healthier stuff and we have to buy healthier stuff. No more cakes, less chips, dips, etc...

It's a start. My legs have been stiff. Also trying to do sit ups and push ups daily. Ideally I'd like to do 30 mins of the bike every other day, 30 sit ups, 15 push ups, walk every other day, and do yoga a few times a week.

My ex used to have me doing yoga, and while she was a psychotic b1tch, yoga is actually pretty good for you, so I need to do it more.

...And also getting the kitties to stop making noise when I'm trying to sleep would help. Friggin' Nermal.

At least Garfield has been quieter lately.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.
