forget about playing in ny, how about playing with stephon marbury and eddy curry. what happens when curry watches another guy go right by him, does artest just sit back and say nothing or does he pull out a shank and stab him?

Is that a bad thing?

I jared jefferies and channing frye deal works under the cap, we have to ask ourselves what channing will bring to the table, eddy is not going anywhere so frye will rarely play. They have Salmons so that rules out trading Crawford for artest.

So in reality if you can make this deal you do it and get rid of jj and his four remaining years.....If you want to start crawford then be my guest but that gives us a much better roster.

I would even try to move Nate for Kyle Lowry which would be a good decision and include Randolf Morris in the deal.

I think Memphis and the knicks could perform a three player swap if they win the lottery.
Memphis Trade Breakdown
Outgoing
Mike Miller
6-8 SF from Florida
18.5 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 4.3 apg in 39.1 minutes
Kyle Lowry
6-0 PG from Villanova
5.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.2 apg in 17.4 minutes
Alexander Johnson
6-9 PF from Florida State
4.4 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 0.3 apg in 12.8 minutes
Incoming
Jamal Crawford
6-5 SG from Michigan
17.6 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 4.4 apg in 37.3 minutes
Channing Frye
6-11 PF from Arizona
9.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 0.9 apg in 26.4 minutes

Plus our pick, which I think they might have to look into because they already have rudy gay, channing is a legit backup center, and crawford with the right coaching could provide them with a point.....

This deal would be nice for the knicks future long term plans

Collins, Lowry (tough defender, quick, rebounds well and plays with hear)
Marbury, Q
Balkman, Jefferies
Lee, Johnson (rugged pf we need)
Curry, Rose

We can add a shooter eventually but you have a ton of energy and defense out there, thats a team just like the bulls have right now

I don't understand some opinions regarding Artest's attitude.

If he makes the team better, you pull the trigger.

I'd sure take a chance on Artest if we could work out something reasonable. Wonder if it's possible to put a clause in his contract, setting certain standards of behavior he must adhere to or it's null and void? I'll tell ya though, the demonic side of me keeps visualising Ron in a Knick's uniform with LB whispering in his ear, "Dolan's out to get you"!

I want to add Artest and Kenyon Martin to the Knicks. I think the Nuggets will Kenyon for a bag of peanuts in this case Francis. Trading for Artest wil require Frye and Jefferies. So that will work out fine. The Knicks would become sick as Kenyon will be stronger next year. Lee can come off the bench and Q-Rich can come off the bench and protect his back next year by limiting his minutes.

Starting lineup:
Artest/Balkman sf
KMart/Lee pf
Curry/JJ/Morris c
Crawford/Q sg
Marbury/Mardy pg
Q, and Mardy are back up at the guard spot as Artest can also back the sg position.

Artest is the wrong move for this team. We have a bunch of young players and he would NOT be the right influence for them. He's a mess and he brings his problems with him to each new team. He can play, but at what cost? Right now the only knucklehead we have is Nate. Francis i'm hoping will be bought out or have his role reduced considerably. If this was the old Knicks i'd have less of a problem bringing him in, cuz those guys were mentally tough. This group is more green and fragile.

This group is not only green and fragile, it is also lacks ambition and mental toughness, why protect a group like that? What's the use? If we want to move on we need to bring in that mantal toughness and ambition. Alternative will be at least another 5 years of mediocracy. That's a bit much for me, I prefer a bit of crisis rather than watching the choir boys, sorry

I hear what you are saying, but I think the Knicks young players would be more greatly influenced by Artest's D and physical style of play before they'd be influenced by his shananigans. I can't see a guy like Lee being influenced by Artest's personal issues, he's definetely got a good head on his shoulders. I wouldn't even mind seeing Lee with an even more aggressive attitude. Nate, we can care less about, he won't be on the team in a few years, and he's already a hooligan.

I agree that the young Knicks players need to be protected from rough bad men like Ron Artest. They are very sensitive young men, and their feelings are easily hurt.

WHat does artest have to do to prove to you he is unstable??? Does he have to be in your closet in his under severing Tea to your sneakers????

You runaway from timeBombs, this team isn't built to defuse Ron artest.

Normally I'd agree with conventional wisdom, and say 'keep the cancer away' -

But unfortunately, we already have cancer (Dolan) - So Artest is more like the flu or something.

I will say this, though. That cat MIGHT bring out something positive in Leaderbury, kinda like what Hoffman brought out of Cruise in 'Rain Man'....

Wouldn't be boring though. Might as well have a circus until Marbs comes off the books. Any other hometown players who need to return?
