You act like it was hard to take camby with the second pick when those taken behind him have been slightly more productive

Ray Allen, Marbury, Kobe, Steve Nash, Jermaine Oneal, also peja, Big Z, Antonie Walker, Shareef it was a can't miss draft unless the knicks were selecting late in the draft

Kirlenko was picked by layden in utah, but no one argues with his mcgrady selection, but when your the worst gm in every other aspect of the game you need to hit a homerun with your picks he has been good so far but not great

Team building seems to be on an uptick with few minor internal squabbles (Steve Francis on playing time, but hey, they ALL want to play) to report and guys playing hard despite being severely ovutmanned down the stretch.

The seven young players, which dominate the roster, need time to mature.

Anyone who expects the NBA growth process to be comparable to making a batch of Jiffy Pop is kidding themselves.

2008 Shiftlines - with a year under theor collective belts

G - Mardy Collins and Jamal Crawford

G - Balkman - and a player to be named later

F - (07 draft pick no one expected/ the "glue player" transaction no one expected)

F - David Lee and (Channing Frye)

C - Curry and Randolph Morris
once a knick always a knick

C-Andrew Bynum -Channing Frye Instead
PF-David Lee
SF-Corey Brewer -Eddy Curry instead
SG-Brandon Roye -Eddy Curry instead
PG-Marcus Williams -Balkman instead

Or

C-Bynum
PF-Ty Thomas
SF-Balkman at 29
SG-who knows
PG-Lowry

Isiah is made out to be this man who has been in a terrible position when in fact if he didn't make any moves last year and just let the team be we would be looking at those combinations above

And all you need to know about how braindead he is:

2005 1st round - #29 david lee (acquired with malik for nazr)
2005 2nd round - #34 (traded away for nazr mohammed)

2006 1st round - #30 mardy collins (acquired with malik for nazr)
2006 2nd round - #32 (traded away for mo taylor)

Justify adding 33 million in payroll and having a serviceable backup for picks he traded in other deals that weren't all that different.

You ask yourself this, Isiah was on 660 after these trades and said they needed more of a vetran influence and when ask why give up Nazy he said what do you think it would cost to resign him. Isiah though 8 million which was odd he would trade him instead of paying him when acquired rose 7mil and mo 9mil (16 million) added jerome james (5 million) then traded for eddy curry (10 million)

So basically for our center position since we didn't want to resign Naz for 8 (he got 5) we invested 31 million a year basically for Currys services. Brilliant, but you can't look at Isiahs masterful work as a gm because who cares we are over the cap! BULLSHIT!

even more about nazr...malik had a bigger AND longer deal. when the deal was made, nazr had one more year at $5 mil. malik had FOUR more years at $6-7.5 mil a year. so in essence, the re-signing argument really doesn't make too much sense.
