Bundybury Strikes

I saw a kid where I live with the shoes on and a sweat shirt and his product is crap. What I don't understand what about the quality? Does that count for anything? Especially when it comes to playing a sport such as basketball.

What's the over/under that his shoes remain at $14.98?

yall are somethin else and truely fail to see the impact of what Marbury has done with the starbury line

Are you referring to inner-city youth, or afluent suburbanites (where most of the Steve & Barry's are located) or to his image and his personal fortune?

You don't even have to answer any of that. Just answer why Payless. K-Mart, Steve & Barry's, Odd-Lot and others don't get equal praise?

Steve and Barry are getting praises. There are many articles about his sneakers. They are huge in Fulton county, Atlanta and I know my counsin in Cinn. saying that the sneakers are always sold out. I guess the biggest praises he seems to get are for the number of sneakers he just gives away as well. I guess that is why guys like Wallace thinks it is a movement. While Cuban sees the business aspect. I know where many NFL players also would like to get involve with the "movement".

Just understand that Ben joined the "movement" because he had no other sneaker deal, and I suspect the same was true for Steph or his contract (formerly with And1, I believe) would have prohibited him from this one.

Why wouldn't someone without a deal want to get in on this one where you make dough while being perceived as doing charity?

Don't see your point. I hope T MAC and KG ask Addias to do something like this. I hope the "Nike team" ask Nike to do similar projects. MJ is lost to that thought. I think he is releasing another $300 pair this year.

Ben Wallace never had a shoe deal before, so he wanted to get in on this one...because he could. Now do you see it?

Heck, I'd lend my name to the cause too. I've never had a shoe deal either.

St. Starbury of Assisi?

What freaking charity? What is going on? All he did was make cheap sneaks cool. Kids could have gotten inexpensive clothes but with his name on it they sell more of it.

So what, I said early on this deal that he should donate every penny of it to charity!

But then the low income folk would be fund raising, and that might bacfire!

But is he a saint for going this? What is he doing by the way? Selling cheap clothes. Young kids in emerging countries are making stuff for our kids. And for a profit. Thats cool, but lets call it for what it is!

Corp america don't care about you. oil companies don't care about you, car companies don't care about you, mcdonalds don't care about you, get it.

They are in business to make a profit. So is dolan. the knicks don't care about you, don't care about winning. Wallace doesn't care about this. His blue collar image won't sell nikes, so he gonna sell skipbury's.

Really, go try on a pair, its the worst piece of crap.

3000 pairs only cost $45,000 at full retail. We got a regular phucking Robin hood here? Johnny Phucking Appleseed? Peter PumkinHead? StalinBury?

Get real folk, its all ingenuine!

I wouldn't run out and call those totally non-profit situations. NOt after looking at their books. Those execs get paid quite nicely.

This is just Marbury for you. He calls himself the best PG then asks to play SG. He calls his shoe business "charity," and his 20M/yr job a "hobby".

This is Bizarrobury's world, we just live here.

JesusBury? Saint Starbury of Coney? Bill GatesBury? Warren BuffetBury? Mutha TeresaBury? GandiBury?

Harriet TubbmanBury? Malcolm X-Bury? MLKbury? MutumboBury? Abraham LincolnBury? JFKbury?

These are great men who did great things or the raise money for research, or build hospitals, or got cut down for going against the grain!

Starbury sells Sh!tty shoes.

Now we are really gonna annoint St. Starbury because we helping low income families eat? Get proper medicine? Keep families together? Educate them? Habitat for Humanity? homeless shelters? Battered women centers for mothers and children? Aids research? Sickle cell research? Diabetes?

Hair cuts for kids and help them look good!

Its not shallow to help underprivilege look good and keep up self esteem, but are there other ways to do it?

while adults dig it, at what point do the kids lash back and recognize its not a status to have them? We called them skippies, will they call them "Starburys"?

Wrong because they operate at a cost/cover expenses meanwhile Steph Steve & Berry operate at profit using these monies to sign players like Ben Wallace, build more Steve and Berry's, get Steph's mom another big home.

You got me there with Bill Gates and Warren Buffet those are the true freakin Robin Hoods of our time. I hope I too get to point that I can screw over others and amass enough money to give back a small portion back and get Nalod to put me in the likes MLK and Ghandi. Well Steph is atleast on his way. He needs to stop selling cheap sneakers and clothes and move on to selling cheap versions of Apple.

Umm.. if you call getting paid a $1 million dollars to sit as a President of a not for profit organization as a cost/cover expense then you are right sir.

Bill Gates never apolgized for what he provided! He and Buffet have amassed the the largest charitable foundation in the world! Microsoft filled a need and people buy their products. Buffett brings efficiency to the corporations he buys and adds value, and Starbury does the same thing as those do, he fills a need in a marketplace. Buffet and Gates have amassed huge fortunes but again, have created the largest charitable foundation.

Red cross and Salvation army don't sell cookies made by elves and claim they hire the vertically challanged, they provide social services for people in need. The people that work full time for the Red cross and salvation army get paid.

You get paid? I do! Or at least most days!

Hmm... This creates quite an interest on the site...
By the way - why Stephan should practice?
What the point of doing this? He is playing well himself and with his style of play practice is useless anyway.
He should save his knees for the games - it's not to much miles left...

I wonder how much up front money did Marbury give to get this going? I'll take a factual
guess in a rap Jay-Z style

Zip Zero, Stingy Wit Dinero,

Might Give Away A Free Pair, But That About It,
Might Sign Your Kicks, But That About It
Awww Heck, I Might Sign An NBA Player, Give Him A Portion Of Profits

You Already Know How Far I Wanna Go
I Want My Name All Over The Ghetto

And Maybe Even The Suburbs......Word!
