Jamal found a way to get the ball to Curry which people claim is so difficult. Why can't Marbury? Or is Jamal's passing just that much better than Marbury's passing?
Jamal is a triple threat player. His mere presence spreads the offense.

Jamal got curry the ball in a postion to score. He didn't have to make a move everytime he caught the ball.

Jamal has a better ability to pass and create in traffic than Marbury and Francis. The latter two are finishers, while Jamal although he can finish, also has a better ability to pass on the move and has a better understanding of where Curry wants the ball. That being said, Marbury is a better PG than Jamal in my opinion. He makes fewer mistakes and runs the team in a safe manner and also provides better defense against opposing PGs. I would not want to turn this team over to Jamal. Marbury is not the problem. It is the fact that we are missing Jamal, Lee, and Q that is the problem (and the fact that IT actual plays Francis despite his numerous turnovers).

it's not a question of whether or not i think Jamal is a better PG than Marbury... obviously Marbury is a better PG talent wise... but in terms of who works better w/the guy that Isiah wants to build this thing around, Jamal is the logical choice... i think you guys are underestimating his ability to get assists as well... he's had a few double digit assist games this season when he's been put in a role to orchestrate the offense... he has better court vision than his T/O to asist ratio suggests IMO... i think it's just a matter of putting him into the right role & taking him out of that shooter's mentality... plus i like his size at the PG & he'd give us some nice matchups to take advantage of.

what Bip said is absolutely right & that's exactly what i think the strategy ought to be in terms of building this team... if we have Curry & Jamal as the 1-2 combo, then we need to surround them w/complementary defensive minded players & hustle players who will do the dirty work & who make plays on the court w/o the ball... we already have 3 of these guys in Balkman, Q Rich & D Lee, & in a lesser role, Malik Rose fits the bill as well... if we were to add a stud shotblocker to the mix along w/a perimeter defender at the other G position, we'd be so much more balanced... Mardy might become that perimeter defender we need, which is why i want to see him get increased minutes as we go down this stretch... & since Cato is our best shotblocking bigman, he needs to see a few more minutes as well... temporary fixes to the rest of this season, & then you grab the best players who fill those needs in the draft or via MLE/LLE signings in the offseason.

jamal has shown us as a "point guard" is his ability to get eddy the ball. that doesn't mean he can actually be a starting point guard and run a team. but he can get eddy the ball. being a point guard is not easy. finding one is alot harder. but it's not taught. you have the ability or you don't.

and if jamal + eddy are our 1-2 combo, two of the most important pieces of a team, then exactly how good are we going to be?

maybe it can work if our 2, 3 and 4 are ray allen, shane battier, and KG.

if we can get a stud shotblocker/intimidator in the paint, & put a smart player who plays D on the perimeter like a Shane Battier, then i think this team has as good a chance as any other team in the East (besides maybe DET) to make the finals... then you build from there.

You take 90% of this roster and trade them for a stud shotblocker and this team wins more games. Exchange for a PG and this team wins more games. Exchange for a stud jumpshooter(that isn't one dimensional) and this team wins more games. We have lost almost everyone on this roster to injury and this team has stayed at the same level. No single or double injury has really affected our record. So anyone can go.
I just hope that people will like me
