and whats funny is i'm on the bus on this journey and there are all these noisy people telling the bus driver how to drive cuz they don't like where the journey is going.

no man, just get off at the next stop. there isn't anything wrong with putting the knicks down for a while if its causing you this much grief.

others choose to ride it out so far. the owner just made sure the bus is gonna keep going down this path so all this agita is just gonna cause you hearburn.

Here goes people telling others how to be fans again. What a joke.

I think most are being objective in their criticism that this team has very little future beyond being an 8 seed wanna be for the next few years.

received wisdom, passed on thru these forums as if it held a kernel of truth. far from objective, rather, an a priori judgement espoused to justify a current attitude.

I find it funny that you are saying the people who think this team can't be more than 8th seed are not being objective, when of course you can't prove that they WILL be anything more than 8th seed yourself. Oh but of course, thats just a recieved wisdom.

I choose not to play the game of predicting where we will be in five years. Therefore i don't have an agenda that i need to 'prove' like so many others here do.

I do question the ones who are so sure of themselves. Hey you could be right in 5 years, but not because you know anything. You're guessing and you;ve got a 50% shot at being accurate. Big whoop. You think its an educated guess, well all right. Rock on with your educated guesses. But when you fancy yourselves objective? Ha - Ha. There isn't such a thing. Do you see me calling myself objective EVER? The only ones who feel they have to protect their 'objectivity' are the ones who have none. I don't pretend I do.

djsu - you must think the Knicks are going someplace... otherwise why would you drop your hard-earned chedda on tickets?

Then again, are your squats in 404 comped via some nefarious hook-up?

hmmmm....

haha - i wish i had that kind of juice.

no, the knicks give me the same amount of enjoyment if they win or lose. why? b/c this ain't life or death...it's basketball. so if they play like crap and i don't like what's going on, i'll talk about that on these boards and still watch all the games. if they play well and i like what's going on, then i'll do the same thing.

the knicks are entertainment (win or lose). so i pay for 3 hours of entertaiment on the way home from work while i have the financial freedom to afford it.

grief? i love this. b/c this just means 2-3 more years of back and forth to keep the f'n work day moving.

and then in 2-3 years when you make that post "dj, you were right. i was wrong to doubt you", we can then go out and get a beer.

djsu - das why I hang out witchoo. You have a healthy perspective on the Knicks as entertainment AND to top it off, you even pay for the squats.

It's interesting to note that with all the frustration you could have built up through the years over the franchise, you understand tomorrow is another day. I have never read a post from you that intentionally dissed anyone, or called any player, or coach for that matter, insulting names...

for that you should be commended.

Now, having sucked up to you for no particular reason other than you may save me a spare for the Wolves game.... can the Knicks beat Toronto on the road without three key players?

... or are they doomed to four weeks of mediocrity with Jamal in pajamas and David Lee/Quinton in street clothes?

hey man, i still got the knicks wristband from the minny game.

raps are 22-9 at home. 14-4 at home since january 1st. they are playing VERY well as a TEAM (the sum are greater than the individual parts) and we have problems with teams like that.

chances are that we don't. but you never know. they too are still in their infancy changes of development.

I look at two things where our most important players will be:

Curry 23pts 8rbs 1blk out of shape and still not committed
Lee 18pts 12rbs an allstar
Balkman 13pts 8rbs 3ass 4 stls
Awful Signing
Crawford: still taking bad shots and killing the offense.....

You need luck in the nba and i don't think we hav it with isiah on our side, i will tell you i think we can compete for a championship if two things happen, q is healthy, pietrus is signed and we move frye and crawford and take a chance on artest....

Curry
Lee/Balkman
Artest/Q/Jefferies
Pietrus/Nate
Marbury/Francis

Thats what i am hoping for, if artest implodes so be it we are rid of crawford and improve the defense

MS - you don't think there was even a smidgeon of luck involved in the david lee over-the-shoulder-facing-away-from-the basket-tip-in, the Marbury end-to-end layup or the Steve Francis off-balance three pointer from the parking lot?

Good stuff from you in this thread. Might have gotten carried away on a philosophical tangent, but its all good...lol. j/k. If there is an agenda at play, I think that some here have boxed themselves in a rail, and have been so persistently negative that they are now actively rooting against Isiah and feel as though their egos are now on the line.

Predicting such hopelessness -- especially considering we have a fairly strong young nucleus --- is a frustrating thought process to deal with. They feel so justified too. Who wants to live life like that? To each his own. Its funny how the same people who claim we had so many assets when Isiah took over [rolls eyes] , now are screaming on the ledge and act as if we have no hope. Doesnt make sense.

Check it out jimimou, should the Knicks "luck up" and make the playoffs, dj's "hook up" on the seats allovasudden becomes an attractive alternative for a Spring evening.

Better to be on his good side now... rather than later when all his wimmen start calling. Or some scalper beats you to it.

it's a little telling that some of the big supporters in this thread are using phrases like "decent group of young players" (nixluva) or "fairly strong young nucleus" (sebstar).

by Knicks standards we have a great young core. i can't remember this much potential on the roster in franchise history. but stack it up with the rest of the league and its not that impressive. if IT wants to hang his hat on youth, moves like the francis trade really make little sense.

This isnt a roster to fawn breathlessly over, but its still something to build off of and further mold. I am see potential, but then again many on this board wildly overrate players on other teams, while shortchanging ours.

In any event, maybe I missed a memo or something, but are rosters now set in stone with no roster movement allowed for the next 5 years? To hear the way some of ya'll talk, I would assume such with all this: can this team win a title? Hell no.

Francis trade sucked. He is ballin' tho.

sebastar - Francis may be erratic but he ain't no punk.

Why people think Isiah will be any less aggressive in adding new talent is beyond me. Quentin's tempermental back makes him the next candidate for (cue the game show theme music)
