And Earl was saying he should "tough it out" and play

It ain't Earl's future.

LEE OUT ANOTHER MONTH
By BRIAN LEWIS
March 13, 2007 -- After getting a second opinion on his sore right leg Monday, Knick forward David Lee is expected to miss another three or four weeks, after being listed as day-to-day by the team about 2 1/2 weeks ago.

Indianapolis physician Dr. David A. Porter termed it somewhere between a bone bruise and a stress fracture, an injury to what Lee said was his os perineum. It’s bad news for a team clinging to the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and their regular-season ending April 18.

"His opinion is it could be as much as 3-4 weeks before I'd start seeing action, though he's still looking at MRIs (yesterday),” Lee said. "He saw the CT scan I had as well as the X-rays, and said he'd classify it as something in-between a bone bruise and a stress fracture, something similar to a stress reaction. It's just going to be time to heal it.”

When Lee got hurt Feb. 23, the Knicks originally said he had a sprained right ankle and strained muscle, and was day-to-day. While Lee was complimentary of team Dr. Lisa Callahan and said the diagnoses were similar, he admitted there’s a big difference between a 4-6 week bone bruise and day-to-day ankle sprain.

"It is completely different, and part of that I'm going to put on my shoulders for being optimistic,” Lee said. "This is new territory for me. The doctors told me days not weeks and that was their best look at it initially, right when it happened...I can't blame them for that.”

That was obviously before the 2nd opinion. You think he'd say the same after the 2nd opinion?

He'd think Lee should play for another team if he doubts the Knicks doctors.

It ain't that deep.

The whole point was that he did NOT know anything about Lee's injury. That's what several smart posters immediately said to him (before they even knew Lee was going to get a second opinion).
