Yep. 99% of rumors are probably made up... the ones that are accurate are the ones you don't hear about so much.

my thoughts exactly. listen, a malik, frye and crawford deal is not bad for vc. i, like the minority, like it. they are not getting francis. they want young players and expiring deals.
vc is a clutch performer who can help our team greatly for the next two years. if it doesn't work out, then vc will walk this summer and will eliviate our cap a little bit. in the east, everybody is smelling blood. it is open and ripe for the picking especially if wade is out for at least 6 weeks. the pistons are unquestionably the favorites. however, the wizards, cavs and bulls have HUGE question marks. with vince, we could make the playoffs and make some noise. i don't like giving up frye but he should do well as a starter with his pal jefferson in nj. crawford will not get better so trading him would be benificial. we wanted to get rid of malik anyway.

Kinda like all the rumors about the Knicks getting Curry, Crawford, QRich (Even though it was confirmed for like 2 weeks), Francis, Rose and the Knicks being obsessed about Channing Frye before they drafted him. Am I missing anything? Pretty much, if there are multiple sources saying that Isiah is trying to get someone, over an extended period of time, there are good chances he's really trying it.

Layden was a little different. The only predictable trade he made was Van Horn for Sprewell.

You picked examples of trades that actually happened. I said 99% of rumors DON'T happen. You can't think of a hoard of examples of trades that were supposidely discussed by the media but didn't happen? We all know that the writers have to write something, so if there's no news, do you put it past them to make up their own rumors? I don't, and it's been evidenced many times. The point being (and not to defend Isiah or anyone!) that I would take any rumors you hear with some disbelief and use your own judgment.
