I wouldn't trade Curry for Lewis, even if they also gave a #1. It will be middle of the pack. Would they even want Frye or Nate?
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

the problem is that this team should run it more but since our focal point is curry, it's difficult to do. just like in our rebulding efforts where we are stuck in between win now and rebuild, we are also stuck between 1/2 court and open court.

EXACTLY.

And thats the thing that bugs me thte most.

Curry would be great on Chicago. Hell if they had kept him and just traded Chandler, they'd be gold right now.

Even a team like LA could do good with him, or maybe Atlanta.

Look at our team........ 70% of it is uptempo players -- Balkman, Crawford, Lee, Nate, Jefferies, etc, etc.

Isiah didn't have the gameplan or patience to build this team right.

Let's face it, he put ALL his eggs in 1 basket -- The Curry basket.

It really pains me, b/c if our lineup had a Greg Oden in the lineup (*cough* draft pick), you take out Curry and sub him in, we're the best run and gun team in the East.

Oden
Lee
QRich
Crawford
Marbury

Hell, trade for Lewis while you're at it...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Lewis is a big time improvement over Q. I would worry about getting the team good and then about getting a title.
Balkman is rookie still developing, JJ2 is a mistake and Q is often injuried. A small trade of Frye and filler for Lewis and a second rounder is find by me.

We don't need defense.

We don't need offense.

We need to make the playoffs.

Take that for now.

It depends on how you want to build a team. I'd rather build with versatile 2-way players than with one dimensional players and I believe you can get versatile 2-way player in the middle of the lottery.

Curry, Frye, and Nate for Lewis and their #1 pick this year?

This has got to be the MOST ridiculous trade proposal I have ever seen. What a terrible trade this is. Don't ever put down an isiah move after this crap. This would set back the franchise at least 5 years.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

Not to pile on, but I have to agree. The lack of respect people have for our own players is amazing. Curry is a top-ten center in this league even without playing a lick of defense. If he actually improves his defense and passing, he will easily be a top-5 center. To give up Curry and frye and Nate for Lewis (who might not even resign with us) and a 1# draft is pick is a bad deal. At the very least, you would have to wait and see if the pick turns out to be a top-2 pick.

I agree that the front line defense is bad but the perimeter defense is just as bad. What guards havent killed us this year? Crawford and Steph are veterens and still cant guard. At least Lee and Frye are young and can get better. I think Curry just refuses to play defense and uses his energy on the offensive. This team needs a defender on the perimeter as bad as the inside. Hamilton, Atkins, Carrroll was painful to watch this year.

it's strange to me that Marb finally is playing some sort of D this year. It's still on and off. Where was this before?

Correct me if I am wrong but Marbury is actually paying hurt. I think he has been for the last two years. I haven't watch much games this year but it seems to be the same issue going back to 2004 (after the Olympics). Possible wear and tear from 04. I think that is one of the major reasons why he has to give it all at certain times.

Our perimeter defense is bad - but I actually dont think it is AS bad as the interiour D. At least we have guys like Jeffries/QRich/Balkman/Stephon(most nights) that can gaurd people. Sure Jamal struggles sometimes and DLEE should not be on the perimeter chasing guys around... But I'm more comfortable with out outside defenders.

Inside is just a train wreck. Curry is beyond horrible. Frye isnt much better... Lee im not that mad at honestly he just needs to learn how to give a hard foul to avoid giving up and 1s.

What set the franchise back 5 years was giving up four draft picks (two in the lottery) to build around a one-dimensional player.

heres a deal I might do:

Frye/QRich/Jerome James for Rashard Lewis/Chris Wilcox

It works under the cap, we dump Jerome... Upgrade Q Rich.. and get a young kid wit potential in exchange for our young kid wit potential.

Still tho I think we are better off staying put

I think its a good thing to have both half court and uptempo players. All the great teams can do both. Every team that has won a championship were good at both. The showtime lakers had an awesome fast break. Yet they still had jabbar to dump it to along with worthy and magic. Byron Scott was effective running and in the half.

Not just them but birds celtics, Moses and the sixers isiahs pistons, the bulls, the spurs, Lakers, and Miami. even both of our Knick team that went to the finals were a good half court and uptempo team.

Knicks are still not there either way. They could be with a trade or two. Isiah can still hold on to the draft pick and a hand full of the young guys.

Rashard is a deal you must do. The guy can defend and I would say his defense is a little better than Q's. His defense is average or I would say a little above average meaning he can hold his own. He can rebound and get steals. Anyone that thinks Rashard does not have game has not seen him play. He can create off the dribble and post up. THe guy shoots like 47% and he mixes it up with shots and drives to the hole.

Listen Rashard is better than Jamal and Q. If we have him on the team he should be the second option next to Curry. He is even good enough to be our first option in the East. I don't think there is a player that can check him on defense.

I have watched him since he first came into the league

Robinson To Seattle Discussed?
19th February, 2007 - 12:54 pm
New York Post -
There are rumors that Nate Robinson and Channing Frye could be dealt to the Sonics in exchange for Rashard Lewis.

Frye was the subject of many trade rumors last season and again is unlikely to be dealt.

Rashard is a good player but the Seattle Gm already laughed at the rumors making public statements saying Ray Allen wasn't going anywhere and if rashard and Allen weren't hurt they would be contending.

Seattle would be stupid not to try and dump ray and rashard. They cant bank their whole future on the health of 2 perimeter guys especially if one is over 30.
