19 points and 7 rebounds is crap?

sheesh

Didn't you just complain about people not playing defense on David Lee in the rookie-soph game? But it's perfectly acceptable when Curry doesn't play defense? Consistency.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

So Solace, now we are equating a pickup game against rookies with the regular season when paychecks are on the line?

Curry doesn't play defense?

Let us erect a statue to Eddy Curry as the first NBA player EVER to not play defense.

Just for the record, you probably thought that Glenn Robinson was a franchise player.

Curry is Glenn Robinson Lite.

Ever hear the axiom, "Defense Wins Championships"?

How many players who didn't play defense or rebound, EVER lead his team to a championship?

Isn't that why we play the game? Or is it to be a .500 team that struggles to make the playoffs every year?

Wade - great defense
Pistons - great defense
Duncan - great defense
Shaq and Kobe - great defense
Hakeem - great defense
Jordan, Pippen and Rodman - great defense

and on and on and on...

Islesfan - I simply don't agree with your statement that Eddy Curry is crap

Marbury - playing better defense when he fights through the knee pain

Jamal - too skinny to play defense but my oh my that young man has the courage to have the ball in his hands when the game is on the line. I don't hold that against him

Quentin - will dee up and fight through picks every once in a while, besides, given the nightly matchups... how many lockdown types are there at the three spot anyway?

Lee - can't decide whether he should add a skootch more muscle to become more Gus Johnson-like at the four, or slim down and become the fluid Billy Cunningham skill forward he played in high school

Curry - it must be an acquired taste

Jerome - designated scarecrow

Jared - hey, Noo Yawk ain't for everyone but he's still 6'11

Channing Frye - I miss Marcus Camby, damn that Scott Layden for trading away both Nene AND Mr Hartford. Then again, Frye is also 6'11 and intelligent enough to refine his game accordingly.

That's my story an' I'm stickin' to it

That's not an argument. And Isles is right that Eddy is crap at everything except low post scoring

thats is the stupidest thing i have ever heard, too skinny to play defense, and admire his courage. He is 6'5 and long having bulk is not required to try or fight through screens

When I say Eddy is crap, I don't mean he's Big Snacks. He's a useful player but he's not even as good as someone as similarly one dimensional as Glenn Robinson. Would you have built a team around Robinson?

Marbury - so you're saying that he's broken down, with a ton of miles on his knees and almost washed up?

Jamal - too skinny to play defense??? Tell that to Michael Cooper. You're seriously reaching. He has the courage to take the last shot, too bad he doesn't have the consistency. He's more likely to kill you than not.

Q - I like Q but he's a 55-60 game a year guy now because of his back. He's a role player at this point in his career because he's fragile.

Lee - so you're admitting that Lee is a tweener. I like him and he's definitely a piece but there are issues as to position and defense.

Curry - he is what he is, a very one dimensional post player. He'll give you close to 20 points but nothing else. That has value and isn't nothing but it's not enough to suggest building around.

Jerome - he's a funny guy

Jared - he can't handle Noo Yawk and he's just not that good.

Frye - The guy is a bust. He might be intelligent but he doesn't have much desire.

And that be the way that it tis.

just for the record Bonn - 7 rebounds per game is not great.

but it is not crap

Eddy Curry is still finding his voice at 24. I don't understand the venom directed at this young man for not being a finished product at this early stage in his career.

Then again, people hated Wilt for being 7'2 and not being Superman.

Nice to start the post All-Star half with a win after Golden State.

This Knicks team has one major personality trait that few want to acknowledge or discuss

Resilience

Then again, Quentin Richardson's solid start is overlooked.

Curry, warts and all, with another 20 point game.

Five players in solid double figures and, oh yeah, Mister Double-Double with another double-double, I could care less if he starts or not so long as the determined style of play and winning trend continues.

hold up

has anyone noticed that Jamal Crawford seems to have gained some weight?

What winning trend?

What determined style of play? Dump it to Eddy and if that fails run around like chickens with their heads cut off looking for a shot?

You gotta admit though, dumping to Eddy works pretty darn well. 8-9 from the field.

Islesfan - "determined" as in playing tough dude

In my reference, "determined" does not describe a particular style on play (slow down, half court, uptempo, fast break) as much as a playing personality.

Knicks are playing with some heart

with some courage

and showing an ability to win games when they don't play particularly well, like last night

(unlike the celebrated Denver Nuggets, held up as an exemplary franchise by some, who have suddenly lost six games in a row with AI and Melo)

hey, the Knicks (Steve Francis assist to DLee) even made SportCenter Top Ten Plays

how cool is that?

They play that way when? Every 2-3 games? That's something to be proud of. Giving an honest effort some of the time.

What way were they playing in the Golden State game?

how cool is that?
