Seriously, I'm not sure the point of picking on MWill when he had a respectable game. He's a distributor, first, not a scorer, and ithe Nets were missing most of their key players, so I don't see why any of that is surprising. This is just plain hating, when in reality, most people would've been very satisfied with MWill AND Balkman, and would prefer MWill to Balkman. I don't think that's so terrible. Also, nobody compared MWill to Magic Johnson, etc... so any talk of such is purely flamebait.

If you have been watching him since he donned his Nets skivvies you have noticed that he is a shoot-first PG, not a pass-first PG.

that's not what i noticed. he dominates the ball a lot but he's pretty balanced in his passing/shooting i thought.

He's getting better of late. For while there he threw it up every time he got a glimpse of the hoop.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Ahh. Interesting change from your initial post. Neither post is quite accurate, IMHO. Makes me wonder.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Wonder? What is the change exactly?

Just that your initial response to me and what you posted above seem to be a little contradictory.

I don't see the contradiction. Overall this season, Williams has show a propensity to take bad shots, and he shoots quite a bit for a guy described as pass-first. In his rookie year, he shoots more than Kidd on a per-minute basis, and the problem with that is that many of the shots are not high-percentage. He often tries to get too fancy.

In spite of that, he is playing better recently, though he is like a swinging door on defense.

No contradiction there, young players tend to get better.

I don't dislike Williams, I just don't trust him around my computer gear!

19 pts, 4 rebs and 3 assists in his 2nd start.

Not bad.

Ok, since the rest of tonight's game is garbage time, nothing any of the Knicks do in the second half counts.

Got it.

If he went for 40 pts with 25 assists, people would say it's only one game. MWill had a decent game, not a great one. But he is just a kid and he will be pretty good. Anyway, people are going to believe what they want to believe.

pretty much. what would you say if Balkman had 20 pts in the second half and the Knicks lost by 25?

the Knicks game is over.

You guys keep beating this horse to death but the fact is, if the Knicks had drafted Williams, he would not be doing anything other than waving a towel for the next two years. I don't disagree that it would have been nice to draft Williams, but I like Balkman and I certainly see no point in trying to attack IT for passing on a guy that 19 other teams also passed on when we already had 3 PGs on the team.

Can we settle this argument by saying that Williams is a good prospect and there was a chance IT could have gotten him and Balkman. If IT had done that the Knicks would have clearly had one of the best drafts of 2006. Instead, we are left with getting a very solid prospect in Balkman and a potential PG of the future in Collins (who at least is a solid defender). Now can we move on from this. You guys fail to recognize how many teams would be happy to have the "bad" draft picks IT is making.
