I'll take Barkley, Malone, and Pettit over him.

Again.......Duncan is an anchor no doubt, but Jordan would kill him, so would Hakeem, DRob, healthy Patrick, hell.....Amare brutalized him in that series.

Let's face it, Duncan is soft.

He's smart, efficient, selfless, strong in everything.

But he doesnt have a killer edge, and can't take over games.

Oh, and he's BOOOOOORRRRINGGGG.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Barkley Malone and Petit? 2 of them never could get their rings, Petit got 1 and somehow Duncan did it 3 times but they are better?

12 RPG over a career is GREAT. 2.5 block per game is GREAT. All defense 8 years in a row is GREAT. And that should dispel any soft label.

And Duncan did it against Shaq. Shaq is one title ahead of him and Duncan never had a player as good as Kobe or Wade next to him. Robinson was way past his prime and please don't offer Ginobli or Parker as being as good as Kobe or Wade.

22 PPG at over 50% is GREAT, not to mention Duncan scores when the game is on the line, gets the big rebound when the game is on the line.

I seriously can't believe we are arguing the greatness of the most complete forward in the history of the game.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I would rather see if we could get a guy like Lamar Odom for Francis and Frye. We need to consolidate our talent and Odom is a good passing big man, solid defender, and can hit the outside shot. The lakers need talent at PG and PF. I know last year they were interested in Frye. I would see if we could get them to bite on a trade like that. Lineup would be Marbury, Crawford, Q, Odom, and Curry, with Lee backing up Curry and Odom.

I am in the "just say no" camp as far as Artest. This team is too young to expose them to the circus that is Artest. The only qualifier is that IT has been the only man that has really been able to handle Artest, so maybe he could do it here. Talent-wise getting Artest would be great, but so would the risk.

[Edited by - thegame on 02-12-2007 12:47 PM]

I never thought I'd say this but I would def. take Odom over Artest. I agree with those who think that Artest thinks he's way better offensively than he is. His jumper isn't as good as he thinks it is.

Too bad Sacto is willing to part with Artest and Odom doesn't appear to be attainable
Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

Dude, Barkley would ANNIHILATE Duncan.

ABSOLUTELY ANNIHILATE.

It's not even a contest.

Jordan would tear the Spurs up.

Hakeem would DESTROY.......repeat DESTROY Duncan.

Shaq has already destroyed both him AND Drob.

Let's face it -- I've seen Duncan since he came into this league. His offense isn't dominant, on the contrary its nowhere near dominant.

His defense is VERY strong and consistent and efficient. But his defense isn't Hakeems, nor is it Robinson's. Hell, I'll take Shaq's intimidation in the paint over Duncan half the time.

Oh, and let's not forget he's HORRID from the line, injury-prone, and lets the likes of Amare DOMINATE him in the paint.

Duncan is the most complete PF of all time.

He's also the most simpleton, and least deadly of the greats.

Jordan would destroy him as he did everyone else. Duncan and Shaq are Neck and Neck as evidenced by what they have accomplished.

Hakeem, sure why not? Hakeem was amazing.

Barkley? You're tripping buddy. Barkley would get his and Duncan would win. Just like Amare.

Duncan's offense is quality and you're like at quantity. I'm sorry but. let's face it, 3 championships don't lie.

Knicks need another real threat on offense. Artest is gonna bring the D, but the knicks need another guy that can flat out score.

Can malik and frye pull it off? I don't wanna trade anyone else but these guys for artest. Sactown could develop frye and if they are thinking of trading bibby then why not try to get Frye. Sactown needs to rebuild right now. The knicks are still a work in progress but they are not shutting it down. The knicks are in a playoff race.

I think we are fine on the offense. When you have good defense, it creates more offense, look at the Pistons. We are far ahead of the 2004 pistons in terms of offense. We have 3 guys that have had 50 point games in their careers. What we need to concentrate on now is the D, I mean our D has been alright in the second half, we are like what 18-0 when we lead at the half or something like that? Now throw in someone like Artest, he will single handedly improve a teams defense. We need someone else with some experience in winning games. Even if he is a headcase, we need to take that gamble.

OOHAH- Yeah I heard about Max Kellerman's brother through someone a while ago, I actually went to high school with Harry Kellerman. Crazy world we live in.

Now you've opened yourself to argument because guys will make that argument especially about Wade.

Not me. I understand that even if Shaq does nothing but go out there and stand, he made everyone on the team better. His presence allows guys like Hardaway, Kobe, and Wade to actually win while putting up gaudy numbers.

I went to high-school with Sam. I think Harry was his younger brother, I might have met him once or twice. I can't talk about it anymore because it hurts too much, but Sam was a wonderful, intelligent guy.

I would only trade Frye and Collins. No nate, no Lee, no Crawford......... They probably don't want anybody else but our lowest contract that makes the deals match.

I would also look to use the one thing the knicks have going for them and offer to take back one of their horrible contracts they have with kenny thomas and SAR, like Queenie said.

Artest isn't a "break the bank" talent right now either.........

Curry isn't half the player Duncan is, and I'm a Curry supporter. SA's MO is also predicated on Duncan's ability to play all NBA and hit shots outside of the paint.

Additionally SA plays such good team ball they are more than the sum of their parts, whereas the Knicks seem to be less.

^ I said IF.........big IF.....Curry continues to improve.

Like Max Kellerman said, "Curry has the best post scoring this side of Tim Duncan".

We're never gonna get a Kobe or Wade, but we CAN model after San Antonio.

Marbury is every bit as good as Parker.

Artest is better than Ginobili.

Posey or Hassell would be close enough to Bowen.

Plus we could have a much better bench in time...

It's really the only realistic option.

And just for the record, Tim Duncan isn't unstoppable.

If he was, he'd have averaged 25 for his career.

He's efficient and consistent. Amare SCREWED him in the ASS in the playoffs.

A trade of Frye, Nate, filler for Artest and filler would be a win-win for both teams. Sac rids themselves of a troubled player and gets 2 young players in return. NYK gets their defensive SF plus he has an outside shot that can only help Curry. Imagine having this lineup...
C-Curry
PF-Lee
SF-Artest
SG-QRich
PG-Dinglebury
We get good really quick.

Duncan is so solid in his fundamentals he makes it look effortless and easy. His sign of greatness. Its boring perhaps, but winning isn't!

Ron can stay and grow tomatoes in Sac for all I care. He is a complete nutjob and we just don't need this.

He has failed his team everywhere. He is mentally soft.

I'd like to wait on Frye a bit more. It takes time to find your spot in the NBA and its more important that he has the tools. He just need to learn how to use them.

And I Think he is a victim of Isiah indecision this year.

Isiah is the new Larry!

If we can get artest while moving jefferies in the process you do the deal, Artest makes nothing and there is a huge risk obviously, but you guys are acting like we are building something which we are not....Our team is awful and doesn't really have a realistic chance of getting better.....

I think Pietrus is a viable option and will get more than the midlevel but would be perfect for this offense. I would take a gamle on Artest.

Marbury
Q
Artest
Lee
Curry

Thats a good team that can compete with anyone in the league, and it puts crawford on the bench, but thats fine make a go of it with that unit.

if you can get Artest and keep QRich it would be an interesting starting lineup.. Still no interiour D however we would still allow layup after layup.

Im tellin you guys the problem is our INSIDE defense.. we need a shot changer
