Hopefully Eddy takes this as a slap in the face and realizes that he can score all he wants but if he ever wants to make the All-Star game he's going to improve the facets of the game that got him left off the roster.

but did Big Dog have Dwight Howard and J'Oneal competing for that same spot?

Oh hey, I agree. I'm arguing that the premise that defense is a requirement for an all star spot is bs. If you read back in the thread you will see that others are arguing that Curry needs to play defense to be an allstar. Not true. You just have to be lucky like Houston and Glen Robinson.

Or a much better offensive player than Curry and not playing the most important defensive position on the court

defense is not a requirement but it's look at more at the center spot than any other b/c historically, the center is supposed to be the intimidator. so there's a defensive connotation to being a "center" in the nba.

djsu: PF is also supposed to be a defensive position right? Its not supposed to be all offense and elegance. The name itself POWER forward, suggests a rugged player. But Dirk in his early years (before Nelson's last year and Avery's first year) was a all finesse and almost no defense type of a guy. He was an all star then. Even twice I think.

There is no excuse for not playing defense but that has nothing to do with do with being an all star.

I read it before you edited it but ok. I don't think defense is a requirement for being an all-star. Its more about popularity. You obviously think otherwise so.....

Why all this arguing when Currys Allstar Bid always depended on Shaq not going?????

Magic thinks the Curry snub is "payback".

If Shaq does not play I do not think David Stern will select Eddy Curry to replace him, I can almost garuntee a member of the Bulls will go (i'd select Deng but im sure it will be Gordon or Wallace)

Charles is an ignorant racist who i love listening too but he should be fired for some of the stuff that comes out of his mouth. Curry is the only knick playing well. How many players are averaging a double double, let alone off the bench while being second in offensive rebounding and field goal percentage. One David Lee, i guess curry is playing better, laugable......

And Magic and Isiah are both fruitcakes, and he is the one that endorsed this idiot for the job as general manager and helped destroy our franchise that we all love.....These guys should be all-stars ahead of eddy

Joe Jonson 25.3pts 4.1ass 4.1rbs 1.2stls 47%
Ben Gordon 21.5pts 3.6ass 2.9rbs 46% in 31 minutes
Jamison 19.3pts 7.9rbs 1.2stls 1.3 to's 46%
Deng 17.8pts 6.8rbs 1.2 stls 2.2ass 1.8 tos 52%

And if those guys think Okafur didn't deserve it over Curry they should all lose their jobs

Okafur 14.9pts 11.4rbs 2.9blks 1.2ass 0.8stls 2.0 to's 11.4fga
Curry 19.4pts 7.0rbs 0.6blks 0.7ass 0.4stls 2.5 to's 12.5fga

Thats not even a contest he is better in nearly every area and is a great defender that acutally intimidates people from driving

Magjc perhaps if the entire league wants isiah to fail and he gets robbed in every trade, cap space, draft picks, trade kickers maybe we should fire him....And maybe you and Charles are just two dumb people trying acting intelligent and knowledgable...

Instead of just saying that Curry should have made it and coming up with excuses as to why he didn't, I'd love to hear these people explain who of the 12 players that made it and the 5-6 players who were considered but didn't make it, were less deserving than Curry.

The bottom line is that Curry deserved some consideration (like an honorable mention) but realistically he's not even close.
