While Josh Smith is talented, he's a dime a dozen athletic swingman.. Don't trade big for small unless its something spectacular
Bynum thrives partially because of all the attention Kobe and Odom demand, all their role players do. I think Curry provides much more of an impact at this point, so we're again supposed to trade for potential? I just don't buy the Bynum hype, sorry.
While your logic is built to find flaws with building around EC, why couldn't he just be another player? He doesn't need to be the franchise or cornerstone, simply a part of it. If we had a SG or SF capable of playing at both ends of the floor, we'd be a much different club. Currys defensive prowess around the bucket is exposed because we can't guard anyone off the dribble. Good luck to anyone picking up the slack for our guards..
