It's been 7 years of mismanagement(you can see 35 years if you want) and even now we're still 8 games under .500 with the highest payroll in the NBA. Fans have legitimate gripes.

And we take them disproportionately out on our best low post guy since PE. Eddy Curry has nothing to do with 7 years, 35 years... you just don't like the guy.

Wow, thats a joke. It's got nothing to do with liking a player or not liking a player. I hated Sprewell but I'll be damned if I didn't want him on the court for the Knicks when it counted.

You guys try and make everything into liking vs disliking issues and then you run rampant with your generalizations about peoples viewpoints and associate them with that viewpoint for life, even with other players. What does matter is peoples opinion of A player and I think right now many people have a problem with everything Eddy does, aside from scoring. He's a FANTASTIC scorer, theres absolutely no doubting that. At the same time he's a bad rebounder, he's a bad defensive player and he's major contract that Isiah Thomas brought to this team and he gave up major pieces to get him.

I understand being a fan, I am a fan, but I also don't wear rose-colored glasses so that I can trick myself into looking past players decencies to make myself feel better about rooting for my team.

The next time you want to make blanket assumptions and claim people don't "like the guy," think again.

It's about time. I guess we'll have to watch 3-4 more games of him grabbing 3, 5, 4, 0 then 9. Eddy was solid for the most part tonight.

its the first game in a while that he was able to rebound averagly well for a guy his size. after this game curry is back up in the ranks of guys like mehmet okur, and corey maggette in terms of rebounding per minute. huzzah!

And the Knicks are suffering as a result, evidenced by being one of the poorest rebounding teams statistically in the NBA.

Oh wait... we're not? We're one of the best you say? Well... then Curry's shortcomings have been... what then... accounted for in some manner? Why would our GM think to do that??? Doesn't he know all of NY wants him to fail?

I agree Rich. I'm not saying I'm not giving Eddy a chance, I'm just saying, he needs to work on it and if he doesn't it's going to really hurt us over the long haul.

The lack of consistency on offense, the FT's, the fouling, the 20 mins playing time, the bored look on his face etc. But he is a Knicks player so gradual improvement is no good. He has to become a good player on both sides of the court overnight.

The Knicks have a losing record, or perhaps you are forgetting. Knicks got this win but I can point to SEVERAL times in the game that the Lakers got a rebound that they should not have because both Curry and/or Frye were either not boxing out or were out of position.

Beating the Lakers *at home without Kobe* by 4 points is nothing to get excited about.

If you build a team that compliments Curry his weaknesses can be minimized. But if you continue to target useless free-agents and make trades for guys that have no fit with the team than curry's weaknesses will be magnified.

You can win with any player on your roster if you build the right team. But you can't have a GM wasting resources on players he's going to buy out a year later and mid-levels on role players that don't fill the role you want them too. Having a core is not enough. YOu must build around that core. Isiah has not shown he can do that yet.

As for Curry. I like Curry. I think he's improving. Most of his problems come from not understanding the proper mindset he needs defensively. That can be fixed but is very difficult to do. He's young and I would never say that he can't develop that mindset. But most of the time to develop that mindset at such a late age one of two things has to happen. You have to expereince something traumatic. For example you get cut from the leauge and no one wants you. Or you have to get criticized so often that you get sick of hearing it and want to prove people wrong. But hearing that everything you are doing is great is not going to lead to change. I know some of you guys love Eddie to death. Possibly want to bear his children. But don't get down on the criticism that he gets for his pis-s poor defense. Because that is one of the catalysts for change.

On a side note: Anyone notice that you can say all the negative things you want about Malik Rose and their is no backlash. But say something about Curry or Isiah or David or Marbs and suddenly you are considered a pessimistic loser that wants to climb a bell tower and start picking off Knicks one by one.
