Actually if you do the math as their record stands 18-25=41.8% Take 41.8% X number of games left 39.........41.8%X39=16.3. 16+18=34WINS

hm thats not the same math i used. but I dont see why my method wouldnt work. the answer i got was 35 game,I dont feel like showing my work right now though.

ok, i'll entertain your hypothetical... if LB did the job i expected him to do last year, & Marbury was playing the way he's playing right now under Isiah, i'd say i would have expected at least 45 wins from last year's squad & a good chance at advancing past the 1st round of the playoffs as a #6 or 7 seed... what does that have to do w/anything though? the fact of the matter is that Marbury is only performing the way he is now while playing for Isiah & he wasn't doing that under LB... also the team was extremely uptight playing under LB last year, & are alot more energetic & gritty this season than last.

so overall, judging by the W-L records, has the team progressed much under Isiah this season? not that much... but in terms of the intangibles surrounding the off the court & overall chemistry we've seen displayed, i think there's been progress in the positive direction

the only trade assets we have that arent a core of the team are ones that arent all that good. and of course no cap space, or high draft picks.

realistically speaking, what other teams out there have great trade assets that AREN'T a part of their core foundation for the future? at least we now have a couple pieces that we can legitimately say can qualify in that regard, & that's something we haven't had here in a long time... & we can finally be in the conversation when a star player becomes available in a trade because we actually have some players that other teams would want to trade for, & that's a positive also.
well we do have a core, but we dont have a franchise player. its true that the knicks can trade for a star player though, but will that even help? how can we get one without giving up very helpful players?

u have to give something good to get something good dude... that holds true for every team in the NBA... but i do happen to feel like we can trade Frye, Nate & CHI's pick for a player that can have a real impact on this team w/o having to give up Curry & Lee... throw in Balkman, Q & improved play from Marbs & that's a start.

at best, maybe something like a Josh Smith or maybe Ron Artest... at worst, you can get 2 veteran role players who fill the needs on our team & get another 1st rounder for Isiah to tinker with in the draft IMO

The only difference is they haven't quit on Zeke like they did on Larry. If they would have played hard last yr and still felt Larry needed to go, they could have done exactly what they did at the end of the yr. Instead they bailed early, the coach in turn bailed, and everyone was absolved from blame with exception to LB.

crap I dont remember what I was arguing on this thread. anyway I think trading for ron artest would be a huge disaster, and its unlikely we can get smith.

also its unlikely Isiah will fill the needs of this roster successfully with vererans given his track record.

and besides, don't you think that the ceiling of this team is lower than what it should be? If Isiah does swing a trade for veterans (Isiah Thomas Style) the knicks will boost from bad to around just missing the playoffs next season. and then after that they might make the playoffs and and knocked out in the first round. but what then? think about it tms marbury is playing perhaps the best ball of his career right? and yet we are still only about a 35 win team, but what happens after his contract expires? I mean when he was out with a shoulder injury last season the knicks went like 2-22. even if the knicks are a better team by then I dont see any way for his production to be replaced and the knicks will have peaked at first round exit team.
