Jamal is erratic, inconsistent, maddening and makes you want to kill him. But he's not a bad guy. He'd be willing to listen if he was coached. I have no problem with the guy. He just needs to be taught.
So basically its not his fault its the coaches fault. Interesting take from you of all people.
Wow, I feel like I've been violated. Not sure where you got that I'm saying it's all the coach's fault. I think the opposite. To me it's always the players fault. At least 95% of it. Just like when you make the same mistakes over and over again at work. It's always the workers fault. It's on you to find the people to teach you. It's on Jamal to change.
But my point is I dont' have venom towards the guy. He's not one of those bad guys that is an erratic player because he's a selfish jerk. He's not shunning coach's and talking to the press about people stifling his game. He's generally playing the game within the limits of what he is being told to do. To me he's no different than jeffries(although more talented). He's being thrust into a role that he has had some success with but may not be entirely suited for him. Everywhere he has gone because of his one on one skills he has been told to take his man one on one. And that's what he does. He scores. He shoots and does not know how to seperate a good shot from a bad shot when given this freedom. But he is a solid kid that listens. And I'm sure if someone tried to teach him, he would try to learn. He may never learn. He probably will always stay erratic. But at least he will give the effort to change when asked to. I dont' see him getting yanked this year after some of these god awful shots so how can anyone say anything different?
