They go to Curry late now, its just that when the game is coming down to the final minutes the guards have to have the ball to run clock. Eddy can't stand there and dribble for ten seconds like Nate, Steph or Craw.

Then why was Ewing a go to guy?

who did you want with the ball in their hands besides derek Harper when he was here? Starks? Ward? Childs? Gerald wilkens? Eddie lee wilkins? I think the fact that jamal gets the shot down the stretch is more of a compliment to jamal than an indictment on curry...

Actually even with Patrick often the ball was in Trent Tuckers hands or H20s hands. Its hard to get a shot down low when the defense just collaspes but notice I said often not always. patrick made his share of big shots and so has Curry this year. Curry bashers just look for anyway possible to tear the guy down. Their motives are prtetty clear.

I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

It was Houston for the most part after he became a Knick.

This question is pointless.

1. Other teams see him as an unstoppable force and thats why they double team him, because they conceede that he cannot be stopped with 1 defender alone.

2. Others have clearly proven that the last second play was designed for Curry, which kind of defeats the whole negative, Knick-hating premise of this thread in the first place.

3. Even if the last play weren't drawn up for him there are still legitmate reasons to go to another player, which doesn't make Curry any less unstoppable.

Seriously when was the last time you seen a post up as the last play of the game???LOL. When Duncan takes the last shot of the game are they pounding the ball inside, or is he 15 feet away on an iso??? Post players don't get the ball at the end of games because talking away the post is the easy thing to do. So................um, Yeah. Basement??? Please.
Last time? Yesterday, when the Kings needed a bucket and went to Shareef for the go-ahead score with 0:26 left.

The problem with Eddy late in games isnt his FTs or clutch play. Hell, even if he misses FTs there's a good shot he's going to dunk or be shooting an and-1. Eddy sits late for the same reason Skiles sat him late. His defense is so bad he instantly gives the team a 60% scoring option to go to.

This is why mentioning Ewing, Shaq and Eddy in the same line says how little you know about the game. Shaq and Ewing had a great presense on defense and totally dominated the glass. Eddy collects some rebounds during the game and simply does nothing on defense. Its almost insulting to watch, but he scores and scores well. Points show up in the stat sheet so people eat it up and believe the hype.

We cant break .500 for any kind of stretch of games. Eddy's play on that "other" side of the court is a big reason for that.
That's actually the most accurate post I've seen in a long time.

you take Shaq or Ewing at 25 years old, put them on any NBA team and you pretty much have 50 wins.

Yet we have Curry who some describe with words like unstoppable, franchise and cornerstone. Yet the Knicks still cant put together any kind of stretch of consistant play, despite the great "depth" people talk about.

Its obvious why.. I stated it in my post. Just some refuse to see it

Curry just turned 24 not 25.

Patricks team at age 24 won 24 games
Patricks team at age 25 won 38 games.

You were saying? :)

did someone call Curry a franchise player on this thread?

No, but they did in another thread.

all i've ever heard him referred to is being a "potential franchise player" on this forum... if you're ruling out that possibility, you simply haven't been watching the games my friend.

Ewing was 25 in his 2nd season in the NBA (1987)... the Knicks went 38W - 44L that year... this year's Knicks are about on pace to match that record at this point in the season.

before any moron says i'm saying Curry is equivalent to Ewing as a player, let me just preface that by saying that's not the case... but to assume that merely placing a 25 yo Ewing on any NBA team automatically nets them 50 wins is off base & inaccurate.

Your absolutely right, lets all go and start new forum topics on trading Curry because with all the upside and 20 and 10 games he had its obvious there is no way to build around the guy. Hopefully someone will take him off our hands.

isles, they have tried to get him the ball late, but as Anji has stated they have a hard time doing so. I've seen it. In the game against Philly they tried it at either the end of the half or the quarter, and the defense was ALL over him, causing a turnover, I believe.

You know basketball, c'mon now. Most guys who get the ball late have the ability to be good shooters from the outside, unless it's a lob type of play (A la the Lee win against Charlotte). Ewing could shoot. Duncan can shoot. Hakeem could shoot. Curry is just not an outside shooter, and needs the ball somewhat close to the basket to be dominant. Outside of 10 feet he's not as dominant. There's no question about that. Even at 10 feet he isn't as effective since he usually gets double teamed, and isn't as good as one needs to be late in the game at passing out of the double at this point.

Shaq did not just get the ball late because of foul shooting, although I believe he and Curry's inconsistency there is another factor.

Well he isn't as good as Shaq and the Lakers/Heat went to Kobe and Wade.............. sooooooo, yeaaaaaaaaah, you mind moving this thread to the basement.

LoL....This thread was over from here......

Agreed. Anytime someone compares Crawford to Wade and Kobe, there's really no reason for any further discussion.

The point is, I believe, that Crawford is either more confident or better at end of the game situations. It doesn't mean he's a better player, or comparable to Kobe or Wade, though. Craw can score from anywhere, and has had a nack for the clutch. Those are often the kinds of players who are most dangerous at the end of the game. Remember, Sam Cassell was one of the MAJOR reasons the Rockets won against the Knicks in 1994, and they had Hakeem. Guards can usually score more easily. The Spurs had also relied upon their guards to win late, as did the Mavs last year, and Nowitzki is a shooter.

Ken Bannister.

Crawford is no less streaky than Starks or any of those players, including Eddie Lee.
