bottom line when judging isiah thomas: do you feel this team is being built towards an nba title? if the answer is yes - then he stays. if the answer is no - then he goes. the ONLY objective should be building towards a title. not building to making the playoffs. not building to sell out the arena. but legitimately building a team to win a title.
yes
no

Thats really what it comes down to with no lottery picks or cap space to add players.

That means one of two things: either people who rarely or never post are voting... or people have multiple accounts and are rigging the poll.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Is the question what we think Isiah is *trying* to do or what he is *actually* doing? I think he's trying to build a title winning team but the team doesn't have the right foundation to go near that far.

I think it was asking about accomplishment. If its about Isiah's intentions, its tough to find a GM that will openly indicate that he's not trying to take his team there. It's clear to most that this team is not constructed well, though, and is missing several critical pieces, which are very hard to attain.

The problem is that Isiah has spent so much of their resources, in terms of high draft picks and cap space, for this collection of one dimensional role players.

What high draft picks?

Oh, you refer to the umproven guys in college? The Knicks have one of the best evaluators of talent and all you can do is bitch and moan?

Sad. Absolutely sad.

Cap space?

The NYKnicks don't need no steekin' cap space!

If he's such a great evaluator of talent, then imagine what we could've done had he not traded away so many draft picks.

I think that the "islesfan brigade" tend to do their best to get their negative feelings towards isiah and marbury out as often as possible, be it multiple childish retorts or 4 page topic dominating mantras (seats-Blue-Seats) and multiple topics to let as many know of their frustration with the knicks.

Statements like
"the team doesn't have the right foundation to go near that far" - bonn

are absurd to those that don't post as much because we see players like Curry, Lee, Frye, Crawford, QRich all under the age of 26/27 and wonder what this statement is pertaining to.

Also, in the last 6 months the most positive of posters are being run off the board by the UK mafia.

This question is obviously loaded and it still seems to be moving in a direction that would lead you to believe that UK is actually a place where you can get both perspectives and communicate as a fan, but in reality it's a half dozen positive posters trying their best to provide a little levity.

Is he building towards a title?

with a team comprised of 1/3 first and second year players and another group of youthful core players, the only thing preventing us from competing for a title (in most posters opinions) are 1 or 2 players.

And that's from the most negative of posters.

So, while the minority of rude and extremely biased posters can continue to "scream on 'em" to keep their negative viewpoints loud and proud, in reality, for the last 3 years we have been steadily heading towards competing for a title, if not in wins and losses (everyone's favorite retort) in teamwork and cohesiveness.

I am as suprised as most with the current outcome of the voting, but it's extremely encouraging and should give hope to those few positive posters left out there taking abuse on an hourly basis from Islesfan and his croonies (sorry to single you out islesfan, but I am sure everyone would be in agreement that you are the "kiss the ring" leader of the hater regime.)

It's just more fun to ring the negativity alarm than to practice patience and realize what has actually been and currently is being accomplished in the brief 3 year period that has passed.

The next poll should be, "have the knicks shown significant progress"
or "How are the knicks winning so many more games with only the addition of Jeffries [the current hater whipping boy]"
or "How much time do we give larry to 'rebuild' the sixers"
or "Is it finally time to jump back on the knick band wagon and take losses and wins as a collective team entity and not losses go to marbury and isiah and wins go to Lee?"

it's tough posting positivity on a board dominated by negative postings. Even good topics have been ruined by the childish drunken negativity post.

PS Last 20 games...Curry 22 points/ 10 rebounds

despite all the evil that spews from the dastardly haters...it's 21 to 20 "YES".

hey, doesn't that make for a good message board? i mean with so many quality minds here, it's almost like we have a mass-debate.

I say yes...I agree, we are much closer to building a contender with a team of young players with upside and market value then we were before he came here. Are we there yet...absolutely not. Will Thomas be around to see the fruit of his labor.....probably not but I will be willing to bet If and when we do when a title the pieces that Thomas has put in place will be relevant. Whether it's a player that we currently have or player that we traded for with the guys that he brought in. His role will be significant.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

I voted yes because I thought the question was asking about what Isiah was trying to do, not what he actually was doing. So you can reverse one vote.

That's it. I'm not going to your UK gathering at the Nets game.

Now you asking everyone if they're "coming", makes a lot more sense.
