I will disagree with you and I am sure I know Lee game a little bit better with you. He may get lost and Frye plays outside all the time he wont go in the paint. If frye stretches the defense for Curry why does lee play more minutes and always in the fourth quarter. Frye stretching defense at a 40% clip. The reason Lee plays is because they are pounding the ball inside to Curry and dont need a 6-11 man on the perimeter they need someone to rebound and make good passes.

Bro this is not about Lee versus Frye as you constantly try to make it...Our conversation is about Lee but somehow you always drag Frye into the discussion...So you are telling me you don't see Lee leaving three point shooters wide open??

Have you ever noticed that Lee man never I mean never doubles because they cant leave him on the boards? I dont care if Lee starts as long as he get as many or more minutes than Frye and Jeffires because he deserves them.

I have seen Lee get mixed up on defense no doubt about it but he doesnt get over powered in the position he supposed to play. I think IT plays Lee because he trusts him defensively more than other people on this team

I think you are being generous with the getting mixed up on defense statement...

Holfresh, how many times has Lee really left guys on the perimeter wide-open maybe once or twice?

Honestly, I haven't see it too many times. I dont know.

I've never heard Isiah be critical of Lee's play. Have you ever thought that Isiah has told Lee to crash the boards?

Since last year it was an issue with me...It was more glaring last year...I thought he just didn't know where to be...But after seeing it this year on numerous occasions...I think he is just saying to hell with it, I'm rebounding the ball...

Holfresh I can say unequivocally you have no idea what your talking about. He talks about taking a charge or when he does play good defense that is what he is proud of.

I was kinda thinking the same thing. I mean, I like Frye, but we'd have about 6 wins if Lee didn't play this year.

And I'm sure you didn't count the Seattle game where he play only 8 mins in the first half and the Knicks led by 17 at the half...And the Detroit game where Marbs had 41, Curry had 33 and Frye had about 27..not sure..that leaves 4 games...Wow, Lee is valuable...

This guy David Lee is magical!

Last week I was walking in an unsavory neighborhood when three 7'2" guys with guns attacked me. Just as they started to take my wallet a 6'9" shadow appeared over us...David Lee. With a roundhouse kick he knocked the 3 guns out of their hands, the guns ricocheted of the wall, David Lee jumped up and rebounded the guns over their headz like it was nuthin'. He pointed the guns at them...and released the clips to the sidewalk. "Guns,..." he said, "I HATE GUNZ!!" then he was a punchin' and a kickin' and when the dust settled they were on their ass! Then we went down to Crobar and danced with mad hot broadz David Lee dances a mean pee-wee Herman!

oohah
Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

The scary thing is that Lee is young and will get a whole lot better.
How many rebounds a game does he average 5 years from now?

nyk4ever, I love David Lee just as much as everyone, but holfresh actually has a point. It's not that he leaves people wide open. It's that I find he doesn't close out on them aggresive enough. This is primarily against perimeter oriented fowards. He's usually fine against the low post bangers, but his perimeter defense is just as bad as anyone else's on the team. He was doing it all last season (Which is why Larry Brown was benching him so much in the first place)), he was doing it in Summer league and he's doing it now. He's absolutely, positively not a small foward.

I think the guy is a great player to have and I'm as excited about him as everyone else, but I have to say his defense isn't even close to All NBA 3rd team. He's got a long ways to go for that.

Whose saying his Defense is great? Holfresh is making it sound like he's a sieve and letting people score constantly. It's hardly the truth.

Like I said, on the perimeter, he's just not good. In the post, he's good.

Do I praise him for his effort on the D'? Yes

But is he also overrated on the D'? Yes

Is he our best player? Yes

Is that a good thing? NO! If you want Dennis Rodman (With a little more skills) on your team, you damn well better have better players surrounding him. See the Bulls and Pistons, and then see the Spurs, Lakers and Mavs.
