Is David Lee and OFFENSIVE THREAT ?
or is he a hustle guy ? We know his going to give us a double double every night. somewhere around 10-12 pts and double digit rebounds.

So where in his comments is he taking a stab at lee. If I was Lee, I would more take it as an insult if he said I wasnt a force on defense or I didn't hustle. But he is just saying what the scouting report by every other NBA team is saying. DLEE is not an OFFENSIVE threat. So stop making this out to be a IT is disrespecting his manhood. It's getting redundant.

david lee is a significantly better offensive player than jeffries though. if Isiah cant see that than.... I dont know what to say.. lee can hit jumpers and can create his own shot in the post. jeffries can do neither.

I don't mean to cause trouble but i have never seen so much negativity about a team that we all claim to love. I'm not saying that we should wear rose colored glasses, but come on, the bash Isiah stuff is so old now. That was 2006, its now 2007, how about an attitude like; I LOVE THE KNICKS NOW MATTER WHAT !! Tyrus Thomas, Bynum and every unknown college player that everyone here claims is the greatest thing since slice bread are always GREAT players as long as they are on other teams or still in college, but if Isiah drafts them or trades for them, they are the WORST thing on the planet !! The whinning around here is like old underwear, ITS TIME TO CHANGE !!!!

Noone on this board is negative about the Knicks. They love the KNicks. But they are negative about the record and the constant almost 7 years of losing. Because they hate losing.

Bip, so they love the knicks but hate the coach and wish the knicks to lose so the coach can get fired ??? That is what i read on a daily basis. If thats support, remind me to never ask for a life jacket if i'm drowning.

I agree James and Jeffries was a waste. I would of rather kept Jackie and play Balkman and sign CAto. But when in the GM position you have to plan for the future, you don't know that Balkman is going to be this good in his first year. Everyone knocked him for selecting him, but he needed to find someone to play that position. I'm not sure who was available at the time, but I certainly understand the move. The money i guess is just what the market value was at the time. We totally got hosed on the James and Baker deal.

balkman's a nice player but we still have major holes in our starting long term lineup, like a point guard, shooting guard, small forward and power forward (if we're committed to curry). that's 4 starters we need for the future. balkman's a guy that's a final piece to that mix. we passed on 2 potential starting pg's in consecutive drafts.

I disagree, I don't think we need 4 starters. I am usinng the time line of 3-5 years to be a contender, in that time I believe this team will be much better. Whats missing to make the team complete, assuming Curry continues to progress. Shooting Guard (IT is right on that) we need a pure shooter, some one to spread the floor. At the 3 spot, I like Q Rich if his health holds up, he plays bigger than what he is and he gives offense as well. At the 4, I can see Lee there along side Curry. I also see Frye somewhere in that equation. Marbury, I antipate he will be traded in his final year of the contract, so you can say we can use a quality one. Thats big, because I like Marbury, but I recognize he probably wont be the one to take the team to the next level.

In conclusion, I like our squad, we just need a pure shooter and a quality backup big man. A younger version of Cato or Mutombo, you get the picture. The team needs time to grow.

I have never said that my friend. As a matter of fact I've said that Isiah is the best coach for THIS team. I'm still not happy about the state of my team. Or should I be happy with the losing to show that I am a true fan? But since we love the KNicks more than the coach or the individual players it always comes down to what we think is in the best interest of the Knicks. If that means Isiah is here great. If that means Isiah is not the coach than great. As long as we win, who cares who the coach is. Who cares who the players are. Who cares who the GM is. True Fans just want a winner and are loyal to the team called the Knicks. True fans are not loyal to Isiah or any individual player, they are only loyal to the Knicks.

NYResurrection: have you ever noticed that fans can criticize Malik Rose. They can call Jerome James a bumb and noone ever says anything. They can call Dolan any name in the book and there is no uproar. But God forbid you say something about Marbs, or Channing or Eddy or Isiah and all of a sudden you are a pessimistic non-fan. Could this be that it is no longer about the Knicks for these people and has actually become about the individual players?

You ever notice that when someone like Islesfan or NYKvEva says the Knicks have stretches were they don't compete at all, they called non fans. But when David Lee says the exact same thing he is a leader.

We won 23 games last year. And are on pace to be in the 30's(hopefully) this year. The criticisms of your team are true. People talk about them because they want to fix them. That's a real fan. Not someone that pretends that the faults aren't there and thinks everything is great.

I think you got a good point there Bip. Hey, I honestly don't care what people call me, I've got a view about the Knicks, whether it is good or bad really doesn't make a difference to me, it's still just a VIEW. I'd rather all my views about the Knicks be good but I'm not going to lie to myself to make myself feel better about my basketball team. All I want is for the Knicks to be good again and I don't care how its done, I don't care who the coach is, I don't care who the players are when it happens, I just want it done. The fact that I think Isiah/Marbs can't get it done shouldn't matter. From day 1 I hoped I was wrong about the idea of Isiah and Marbs and I still hope I'm wrong about it, but that certainly isn't going to be the case. I'm just here to voice an opinion, voice an opinion on how I think the Knicks can accomplish the true goal of myself and every other fan on this board; to win a championship, although I'm sure to some it's just entertainment, not me though. I'm passionate about my team and when things aren't going well, you'll be damn sure that I'm going to voice my opinion on it, if I'm wrong about that opinion later on then great, I'm happy I'm wrong because all I want is this team to be good again. It pains to me to say that I think, with the way this team is currently constructed, that they are extremely far off from mattering again, but hey that's just my opinion.

Call me whatever you want, I call it like I see it.

Isiah has violated team policy by talking disparagingly about his players in the media, not only that, by doing so he is ruining these players trade value by talking about their weaknesses.

The guy is just a joke, if he doesn't like the players on the roster, then he should look at himself in the mirror and say to himself "I did a sh!t job of putting this team together" because in reality he has. I'm glad that our coach/gm/president JUST got that the memo that Crawford and Marbury are streaky players and that they can't be relied on as players that knockdown a jumper from outside.

And honestly, what the hell does Isiah have against David Lee? The guy is OBVIOUSLY bashing him in the media and he's been one of the few players who have put up, instead of shutting up, to try and save this idiots job! How has Isiah repayed Lee? He plays him whacked out minutes, which most of the time have no rhyme or reason to them. Isiah's been here 4 seasons now, the team absolutely SUCKS, we have no lottery pick and we're still in salary cap hell.

FIRE ISIAH NOW

Good post. Isiah is such a joke. I can see the press conference now when he trades Lee. "David brought us energy off the bench but he was redundant with Jefferies."

I truly believe that in any other situation David Lee is an all star next season. He's going to develop that baseline jumper and he's going to give you 16 and 12 for the next 8 seasons.

Our only hope is that Dolan put the gag order on Isiah this year and fires him the day after the draft.

Ray, man, you hit the nail right on the head.

David Lee is an All-Star caliber power forward. Period. He gets 16 and 15 last night -- and is anyone even mildly surprised???

Repeat after me: David Lee will average 16 and 12, and then maybe eventually 18 and 12, given the opportunity. And isn't it sad that -- for whatever reason -- it's appearing more and more likely that the opportunity will come elsewhere.

Because even if the Knicks FINALLY realize what they have in Lee, the man is not an idiot, and when it comes time for him to become a free agent, he just might tell the Knicks to take a hike. He goes out there and busts his ass every night and just shuts up and gives everything and produces big time night after night after night, yet still gets royally screwed by the coach.

I've said it before: It would not be a crime for Lee to have to come off the bench if he were part of a winning team. But how can he possibly not resent management for toying with his playing time given the production he has given a team with such a dismal record?

In the three-plus decades I have followed this team, I have never seen such an egregious mistake as the one that's being made with this guy.

So don't be surprised if Lee is already planning a pretty quick departure from NY.

And with sarcasm being so rampant around here, I will add that I am afraid you might be right about how you are predicting the future.

With DLee's tweener forward body, IT could see him as a liability, but I don't understand how he can not see his all-around good play and his double-doubles when given the PT. IT's team is flawed, Dlee is a shocking gem, in the middle of that. IT needs to stop messing around in his "tool kit" and play the guys who hustle and the one guy who hustles AND PRODUCES! DLee
