Different era.
WOW! amazing excuse.

Isiah's asslover, do you deny that the NBA is trying to clean up its image? If so, then you will agree that it's a different era and things that were marginally acceptable 10 years ago are no longer acceptable on any level. The league will feel this way; and they've proven that they will come down hard on those who violate the rules.

Yes, it's a different era.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I am just shocked at so much anti knick outrage...Camby threw a round house punch at a player while his back was turned on martin luther king day (the day of peace)

was that this much outrage?

Dolan has that drunkard look on his face. He's back on the bottle, alright.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

YES. That was unacceptable and embarassing to the organization. It cost Camby a possible all-star selection, and many were very annoyed that Camby could lose his cool like that... and hit the coach! Camby got off easy at 5 games when he did that; he deserved 10.

No. There was no outrage on this site after that. Isn't that awful? Maybe it's because this site didn't start up until about July of 2001, and the MLK Day brawl happened in January 2001.

I don't get this- so many here pine for the knicks of the 90s and mardy gives a hard masonesque foul to prevent a break away slam and a brawl ensues- the denver player should have just taken his free throws.

the team is bad- but I applaud mardy for wanting to do something to intimadate the opposing team. I wish marbury would show that kind of bravado.

Different era. Mardy's foul was also more than a hard foul, it was a dangerous foul. Smith could've gotten injured. Bottom line is the Knicks were in the wrong to start, and then the Nuggets didn't back down. What it comes down, in the end, is 6-8 players in the wrong (and possibly our coach), and that's no small number.

I agree that last nite was an embarrassment to the league, the franchise and its fans. I was sick to my stomach watching that. But to fair, those Knick teams of the 90's were one of the dirtiest tams I ever saw. Starks, Oak, Mase, Anthony, X man....damn near killed players on the court. They get a pass because they won.
"Man, who knows with this team." Aguirre.

They could tank if he got fired now.

and give the Bulls the no. 1 pick? I don't get it.

I don't think the players care about that, which is why I think Isiah should remain for the entire season and then go.

First off, it was a bad foul, way worse than the one shown on Wade in some thread or another (in the one on Wade it looked to me like they were actually playing the ball and it was just that he was up so high that he fell so far. This one by Mardy was an around the neck takedown.) But that having been said, if Mardy had done the same foul in say the second quarter, when it might have had some meaning, I'd have been more supportive of it. But with a minute or so to go in a blow out, it just reeks of sore losing.

And then that having been said, I was okay with the way that Mardy and JR were handling the situation (essentially a staredown) until Special Nate came in to inflame and escalate. Each team's players should have restrained their fellow teammates, but Nate became an affront on top of the existing scene, and that was a big problem. The fracas between JR and Nate created the unsettled fracas that allowed Melo to sneak in and out.

That's not to excuse Melo, he was by far the worst offender. But the bad foul, and the additional irritation that Nate caused, were the instigating factors to the whole affair.

First off those Knick teams were great defensively they played physically because thats was part of their defensive strategy. What happened last night at the Garden was not tough and was not a "I'm sending a message foul" well maybe they were sending a message just not the one they think. Mardy fouled players on lay-ups in both Indiana and Denver game okay you want to prevent a dunk in the closing minutes of a blow out fine but to go out there with this intent is gutless.

Does anyone here think for a moment that any NBA team is thinking "oh wow I better watch out for those Knicks there tough"? Seriously if anything I think most NBA players are thinking "if that mofo pulls that on me I'm going to _".

ya isiah has officially given us the worst rep in the league.

no fear.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
