All this talk about the Denver keeping their starters in is a complete joke.

First of all, is that some kind of excuse for Mardy's dirty play? For Nate acting like a thug to escalate things?

Secondly, the last few Denver possessions, they milked the clock down to 3 seconds before they shot. Does that sound like a team that was trying to embarrass another team?

If the Knicks are tired of teams kicking their asses, maybe they should think about playing better and playing some defense.

Isiah is a piece of sh!t. He puts Mardy in after telling Melo that they shouldn't come into the paint and the first chance he gets he commits a flagrant 2 foul. Yeah, that's all a coincidence.

The Knicks got their asses kicked in the game and then they literally got their asses kicked. Melo obviously threw a sucker punch but considering it was on the idiot that committed the flagrant that started it, you'd have to say it was just.

so you don't get a sense of denver showing off and rubbing it in the face of the knicks? there are two main reasons that support they were doing so.
first, they were embarassed the last time we played. that crawford play was seen for a week on espn and most likely one of the collage plays of the year. second, george karl is still feeling salty about how we handled the larry brown incident so he wanted to send a message. i bet he wishes he pulled his players now. he has much more at stake than we do.

Don't you think Isiah would have taken out his starters if he wanted the incident to occur (so they wouldn't get ejections and suspensions)?

If Dolan won't wake up and fire Thomas, hopefully Stern will do his job for him and suspend this loser.

Isles no its not a complete joke. Its called sportsmanship, proffessional courtesy, if you will. But it figures you'd take this position.

So I guess you are saying Isiah made a grown ass man go out there and foul flagrant and risk getting a nice chunk of his small salary taken away in fines. I'm so sure.

Carmello's sucker punch was just? Your an idiot. Carmello punched and ran like a bitch and so did JR Smith, but his sucker punch was just? You are such a joke. You are so emotional, you will twist and contort reality to justify your irrational hatred. So i guess anytime anyone flarantly fouls someone a sucker punch is in order in your opinion. NO, only when Isiah's involved, and of course he was the mastermind behind this whole thing.

Bottom line: George Karl is gonna be hurt by having his key playrs face a long suspension and subsequent losing streak. David Stern has a tendency to over react, so wwho knows whats gonna happen? Karl and Mello will be sorriest in the end. What if Mello didn't run like a bitch and got hurt? What if he got hurt during the game up 19 with a minute and a half left? It was a bad move from Karl all the way around.

Also bad move from Nate as well, because he escalated the situation, still it should have been over with his scuffle with JR.

Killa, aren't you tired of being the joke of the league? actually, it's not even a joke anymore, it's just sad. Isiah is pathetic and this incident is 100% his fault. Carmelo's reaction wasn't just, but it was the only thing you could expect when you pull a stunt like that. Stern will suspend Thomas is Dolan doesn't have the balls. And Dolan doesn't. Hopefully Dolan will sell. I only wish the fight was under the other side of the basket so it ended up right in Dolan's lap.

No one can justify what happened but everyone shares the blame equally. Nate didn't have to swing when everyone was separated. He did, the brawl happened. He doesn't, players keeping jawing and finish the game without punches being thrown. Managers in baseball have called for players to be thrown at and coaches in basketball have ordered hard fouls. everyone shares the blame IMO.

Pity that the embarrassment really started in the second half with the Nuggets simply whipping are azzes.

I'm not the one accusing Isiah of putting Mardy up to the hit, but if he did, why not in the second or third quarter when some toughness might have meant something? Why save it for retribution after a lost cause?

I'm not impressed by empty displays of machismo after guys play basketball like pansies.

I found Karl leaving in his starters far less offensive than the mental, emotional and physical softness we've displayed across the four seasons Isiah's been here.

If it's not shoes, weight loss or street fighting these guys have nothing to pride themselves for? When, oh when, can we fans take pride in our teams play again?

To say that a hard foul deserves a punch to the head just aint right.

To say playing your starters in a 20 point blowout and showboating deserves a hard foul is at least debatable.
EMS

Where was the showboating? Just having your starters in doesn't constitute showboating. If they were still looking to run and gun and take 3 pointers with 20 seconds left in the shotclock it would be fair to say they were showboating. But the Nuggets weren't doing that. They were milking the shotclock down to 3 seconds before shooting. Is that the Nuggets M.O.? Or did they obviously deviate from what they normally do so as not to run up the score?

Every team has bad, last second losses. To say that they were looking for revenge because of it is ridiculous.

If Karl really want to send a message they probably would have kept shooting instead of dribbling out the clock in the possessions leading up to the fight.

I don't think Isiah necessarily wanted or expected things to escalate to the point that it did. But I also don't think that he minded it, which is pretty sick. Notice how unapologetic he was that it happened. Instead he was accusatory and acting like what his players did was justified. It was not.

Some of you mother****ers are so blinded by hate it is un****ing believable. If this was the Ewing, Oak and Starks years you'll would be cheering. I'm out, you guys are ****in pathetic. Just say you want Thomas gone and don't watch the Knick till he's gone. Melo is a pu**y, I love his game and have lost alot of respect for him as a player. Karl will get his just reward, his team is f***ed without their star for quite a while over a game he already had in the bag

Breen is an A$$.

When he talks about Collins, Nate, and JJ2-"That was unnessarcy, horrible, no excuss, unexceptable, no reason....ect"

Melo & smith-"Well it looked like he threw a punch, he jumped on nate....ect"
MY favorite is half way threw the video he says Melo is disgraceful for throwing the punch....... no, for backing up after throwing the punch???? YOu sure that's why it's disgrace Breen, not sucker punching collins when everything has died down!!!!!!!!!

Breen is an A$$!!!!

that is true. back in the days, we had seasons with at least one brawl and against different teams ( miami, chicago, phoenix, etc.). we would be cheering and accepting any excuse. this has ALL AROUND blame. nate and marty were at fault but melo just showed his b more roots and started housing. that is ridiculous. then they spilled into the crowd which is a HUGE no no. the wrath of stern will be huge.

I would say that if you watched it in real time, even an oldschool hard-nose person would tell you they probably gasped and knew that kid was getting up and saying something. he DID NOT get up and throw punches until others exacberated the situation. But that foul was bad and DANGEROUS because he was running and jumping--I kn ow OPakley has done some stuff like that but I dont remember him getting someone in a position where he couldve broken someone s neck---+ it was done in the context of a game--not as a sore loser--wanting to divert attention--different era different team--deal with the present.

isles fan: finally someone here with some sense. what the f%^% do u expect? you commit a foul...Nate comes in roughin up JR. Melo tells Mardy goodnight. BANG. He deserved it....dude gets in games late and commits senseless fouls. I dont get it...everyone is like... oh Melo is a bitch. WHat the hell would u do in that situation? Punch Mardy and stand there in the middle of everything? Yea, real smart idea. Stick & move. Melo nailed the culprit...the real bit&% ...and got out of the crowd. I cant believe how the media can corrupt the minds of the masses. They make Melo into this thug...and everyone just buys into it. Whatever... plain & simple - Knicks stop playin like bit*^#% and this wouldnt have happened. How are u gonna commit flagrant fouls because your gettin your butt kicked? lol Pathetic. Look at the real issue here....and stop lookin for excuses.
