Martin if Pax didnt want Curry to stay he would not have offered him contracts at all. He did want him to stay but Curry refused the dna tests. If Bulls fans that live and breath the team 24/7 all say Pax wanted to keep Curry and Pax says he wanted to keep Curry and Pax offered Curry 3 different contract options then I think its just silly to say Pax did not wnat Curry but believe what you wnat.

if Pax wanted Curry to stay, why didn't he offer him a short contract without DNA test?

Martin,
Pax said he couldnt have Curry play regardless of contract without a DNA test. He didnt want to take a chance on being part of a tragedy on the court. If you want to hate on Curry than hate on Curry but Pax wanted Curry to stay. He just would not take a chance in Eddy hurting himself. I'm not going to answer this stuff anymore because we are hijacking this thread once again from what the original thread was started about.

I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

"When he gets in shape, he's a beast," said Atlanta's Lorenzen Wright, who committed five fouls in 12:35 trying to guard Curry. "When we played them earlier in the year, he didn't put out that much effort - he tried to save energy because he was out of shape. I knew that when he got in shape, he'd be tough. He's starting to live up to his potential now. Instead of just being a big body, he's starting to use that body as a strength."

This quote is ****ing disgraceful and part of the reason why everyone has a short fuse with Eddy, here we are in a crucial season, he is playing for a guy that took an huge chance and gave him money when no one else would and believed in him, and he was out of shape for the first half of the season....

Here in lies the problem with Curry, he played the entire season out of shape last year, if he came into camp in shape and much lighter his entire game would be better, he has been great offensively but you don't commit the fouls and can beat most guys with your quickness if you have his skill set, and this is why everyone ****s on this move, because of his lack of work ethic, its tim thomas like, finally he is showing signs of the player he should have been for the past htree years.......

15 pounds off curry he will be unstoppable, which he is already moving towards, its sad it takes 2 hours a few days a week to get ready to play, and just playing ball during the summer

Pax said he "wouldn't" not couldn't... play Curry. Big difference. And that's the difference in actually wanting Curry on your team and not wanting him on the team and finding an excuse to get out of having to sign him. All the doctors said Curry was fine to play, Pax went looking for a solution to appease why he wasn't going to resign Curry, one that would not de-value his trade opportunity. I mean really, he can't really come out and say, "we don't want him cause he is overweight and doesn't put in the practice time and sucks defensively and has zero fundamentals" could they? No. They had to find a reason good enough to go to the press and fans with without hurting their own trade opportunities.

If you want to keep a player, you keep him and negotiate with the agent and player, that didn't happen. They hedged their story and beat Isiah to a non-protected lottery pick. Good negotiation and ploy.

LOL sure. Thats why Pax had Curry skip the last 15 or so games the prior season and the entire playoffs. Even the training camp heart scare was all part of Paxs conspiracy. It was all a pre planned strategy. Yeah thats beliavable. :)

more than just Curry have heart problems in the NBA.... why are they allowed to play or sign contract? Or better, why do teams sign them?

Are you suggesting that I think Pax had Curry skip those games for contract purposes? That's stupid.

How did the Knicks do in 1994? How are they doing this year with Curry?

dude, you can't possibly be serious... the Knicks were composed of defensive minded players that all knew what their roles were & played w/passion & pride every single night in '94 & had been together for a stretch of a few years playing under the same HOF head coach... this year's team is still a work in progress full of young kids still learning how to play the game & learning a new system under a new head coach... no one's saying Curry's as good as Ewing here, so what's the point in even making a comment like that?

You're right. I can't be serious comparing a team that played with passion and pride every single night to a bunch of players that never do.

why do you even bother watching the games then isles? all this hate for this team & these players, mine as well pick a different team to root for... would save you a ton of aggravation... you can always come back when they start winning games... i'm sure martin & Andrew won't strip you of your posting privileges in the meantime.

The Knicks win the way they were supposed to win
Curry has a good game
Jared Jeffries looks decent
Isiah decides to go with the zone and press and trap
Everything works well and we beat a crappy team the way we are supposed to but we are arguing about Curry not being perfect from day 1?

I wish I were pretending.

Then maybe watching how Isiah and Dolan have turned my beloved team into a complete laughingstock wouldn't hurt so much.

hey, i feel you on most of that dude... i really do... but there are some encouraging things i'm seeing out of this current team... it's not a complete & utter disaster in my eyes... that's where we differ in our estimations of the current situation.

You started to see curry do well last year in spurts.

When the back court got him the ball deep enough, or while Curry in motion he was a monster. When Franbury rebelled against the white devil is when curry got cut off and disinterested.

His rebounding increase is most incouraging. He won't be the big stopper we can all hope, be average defense would be ok by me.

Isiah is following Larrys lead and succeeding in naming Curry the franchise.
Still all about Larry with you. "white devil'? Come on man, Larry isn't a white devil he's Jewish devil.

No but racist jokes aside, now you want to give Larry credit for Curry, whom Isiah traded for and overpaid for in your opinion?

Curry came out of shape after his long layoff. He didn't play the last few months of the season w/ the Bulls, and had to protect himself until a deal was done. It's annoying, but that's how it works.

This season, he seemed to be in good shape-- but how prepared he was, it's debatable because the Knicks were still formulating their game plan on how to use all of the pieces of the team together.

I think we're seeing Curry at just about the best shape of his life--- certainly the best shape for the time of year. I think his prior great runs with the Bulls were all late in the season.

The hope is that he'll learn from this year and come back in even better shape.

Keep in mind that better shape doesn't necessarily mean losing 15lbs. He's got one of the widest frames in the NBA. If you knock him down to 260 or so, he'll just be a "normal" big man. You don't want him to risk losing his power.

The thing that really separates Curry from most is his coordination at his size. He's not quite a Shaq level athlete, but he's close.
