Never in the history of sports has a 7-13 team that won 23 games the year before(while quitting) received loud raucus cheering. YOu must earn your cheers. If you quit 70 games one year do not expect the fans to accept you unconditionally the next year. Most fans do not blame LB for all our ills from last year. They feel robbed by the performance of the players last year and are forcing them to earn it.

Give consistent performance and stop whining and you will slowly but surely win the fans back on your side. Just like anywhere else. This isn't some new phenomenon. Gee we quit last year because we hate the coach, we won 23 games and this year we are 7-13, where are the cheers?". It's reality. Why anyone is surprised by this is beyond me. This is what happens when you lose fellas. You must earn your cheers. Winners know nothing is handed to them. Our players need to learn what this means.
I just hope that people will like me

Imagine the playoffs. 10 pt. lead on the road. The opposing team makes a 9-0 run. The fans are heckling our guys and the pressure is really on. How are they going to handle that if they can't handle a smattering of boo's when they play poorly. Some of you guys need to understand that if you can't handle this pressure you can't win. And this is why we aren't. They will win whne they suck it up and play.

You mean like in Memphis or Denver or Cleveland????? Or did those fans cheer for them to win??? It's stupid right now, because at the same time the team is winning on the road. THey are fighting on the road harder/better hearing the other team cheered and them heckled, then they are playing at home. The team will win, but it is when they consider the fans at MSG the enemy just like in other arenas..... SAD but nessercary.

Daggers are Daggers, hate the home crowd and want to shut them the hell up like an away crowd, would be my message on the team message board.

Matter of fact............

Okay, well if that's what they have to do, that's what they have to do. Just do it.

Funny, how the crowd wasn't a problem last night.
So what's the message??? Don't trail and the crowd won't get Booed?????? UGH....

The crowd was weird last night. If we are losing the boos come hard and loud but last night when we were winning wire to wire they sat on their hands for most the night

That really is the point. The fans bring alot of negative energy into the Garden and only seem interested in the last few minutes of the game or if the team is messing up. But whatever, the bottomline is the players have to play through it. If they need to hate the home crowd to do it, then that is what they need to do. Go out and win the games for yourselves. If you win, the fans will get back on the bandwagon.

"Once we start winning, guys are going to be like, 'See, I told you the Knicks were this and that,'" Robinson said. "Nah. Once you're against us, you're always against us. That's how I feel."
Nate said that????? THat's a great quote..............

Yeah, he said it at the beginning of the season. It was all part of IT's "us against the world" strategy. I just read an article that IT ripped into the team yesterday morning and told them that they are going to start winning at home regardless of whether the fans boo or not. It worked yesterday. Hopefully, they can take that same attitude into the next 4 games.

We need to change this. In the future, a team who goes 7-13 and who lost 23 games last year, should be applauded. Yes, I say applauded. We should say goodbye to the era of authoritarian coaches. Basketball is all about having fun out there on the court, experiencing joy, and generally doing whatever you want. We don't need a bunch of loud mouthed coaches yelling gibberish all game long, telling the players what to do, and over-emphasizing the dubious merits of "winning".

it's funny that the two home wins have coincided with the two lowest attendance turn-outs of the year. it's like a reverse field of dreams, "If you stay away, they will win."
