i think Josh Howard is 1 of the most underrated players in the NBA... the guy can do it all... score, post up, penetrate, shoot the perimeter jumper, rebound, play all NBA type defense, block shots, hustles, great team player, no off the court issues or baggage, coach's dream... he's cashed in w/the new contract extension, but when you consider all the overpaid talent in the NBA, this guy seems like a bargain.

I think it is hard to compare, say an underrated C to an underrated PG, so I'll just give my all underrated team:

Maurice Williams
Josh Howard
Caron Butler
Udonis Haslem
Troy Murphy

#1 Most underrated Micheal Redd of the Milwaukee Bucks
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I think he's quiet and his performances are sort of overlooked, but I don't know if I would consider him underrated-he did make the all-star team.

nobody ever mentions him, only when he scores 57 or if he's on your fantasy team do you notice him.

Playing in wisconsin you can easily win a catergory of being most underrated

True, true. To me though, in my opinion, even if he is ONLY recognized as an All-Star, it still to me sort of says he is not as underrated as some other guys.

I took it as guys that are just straight underrated, but my theory is if you are voted into the all-star game, exactly how underrated can you be?

I think there is a difference between being underrated and being so consistent, that expectations of you are high. I remember reading alot about Redd a few years ago. My only argument is that noone really talked about guys like Stockton, Malone, Pippen....guys today that to me are just guys that are not underrated but also are not "All-Star" players are guys like Jamison, Brad Miller, Drew Gooden, Mike Bibby...granted Redd is better than all of the guys I just mentioned, but I don't think it is a case of him being underrated, just a case of him being out of the public eye(the guy has like NO endorsements).

Kevin Martin, Lamar Odom, Shawn Marion and Tayshaun Pronce are tops on my list at the moment.

Quick question: Uglier shot - Martin or Marion?

I'm surprised no one else has mentioned Ginobili. I really think he might be the best #3 option on a NBA team that the NBA has seen in a looooooooong while.

i wanted to mention Jason Terry again- the guy never gets any attention, first on the crappy hawks teams, then as one option on a stacked mavs team. doesn't pass enough, but one of my favorite non-knicks or non-ex-knicks.

add Andres Nocioni to the list... he's shooting up 3 pointers these days w/efficiency, & he's as physical & tough as they come on the defensive side of the ball... works well w/o the ball & is 1 of those intangibles guys that every good team needs in order to be successful.
