as a bonus he does not start players based on their hometown

Larry got a free pass on that one

You're right he should have just drew straws to name the remaining 3 starters after Marbury and Curry....

Given the performance of the the players, can you actually blame him for drawing straws?

Isiah the coach > Isiah the GM

I think we are seeing that Isiah is pretty good on the sidelines. Maybe he can be the coach and we keep his buddy on to manage the GM duties.

For someone who tells everyone that mentions LB that he's gone and to stop crying about it, you should take your own advice.

How's this for a positive - Is Isiah the coach starting to get through to Eddy Curry? Eddy has looked real solid the last four games, averaging about 23ppg 8rpg, he's setting picks, getting to the line, playing very well.

Jermaine O'neal loves Isiah for teaching him the game - is he doing the same teaching/developing with Curry? My main reason for hating Larry Brown is that I thought he was a horrible pick to develop the young'uns. Isiah comes on and DLee and Curry are starting to look like a legit starting frontcourt. Oh yeah, add Q and we have a legit front line.

He's shortened the rotations, defined roles for the most part. Some of the lineups have been a little wonky, but it's mainly been trying to find combinations of the same 9 guys that work on a given night.

I like what he's done so far. Obviously, it's not great, but I think we've seen some real improvement - Curry, Lee, the rotations, using a zone defense, using Curry on offense to break down a zone defense, also the fact that Steve Francis is playing hard is no small miracle. I'd have liked a few more home wins, particularly Boston, but I am reasonably happy with the progress so far.

All that matters is that this year Isiah is trying to do what he's said he wanted to do. Make this a TEAM and he's insistent upon the players, no matter who they are, continuing to give a solid effort and play team ball.

Before the season started the biggest punching bag was Francis, cuz few thought he could be a team player. Well that's been shown to be wrong so far. He's doing exactly what he should be doing. It's not easy to adjust to being a team player when you're used to being the Star.

Curry has been a focus of Isiah's gameplan and despite his ups and downs Isiah has stuck to his guns and it appears like Curry is actually getting better.

Frye came out lost, but he stuck with him and kept workingg with him and he started to show signs of improving before he got hurt.

He has to work on Steph and Nate some more, but given his track record so far I'd say he's been fairly successful in attacking our many problems. i think he's doing a very good job. In time this team will get more and more clear on what they should be doing and all his consistent hard work will pay off.

scary/worrisome thing about Curry is that his resurgence has come with Frye on the sidelines.

I dont know if they can play together. Lee is such a better fit in the SL.

I that Curry's improved play has more to do with him being utilized more as a forward than a center: He's facing up to the basket and getting the ball on the move.

I think that can work with Frye in the starting lineup becuase I like how Frye plays in the post and if Frye gets double teamed Curry will be waiting for the pass while he is cutting to the basket for the Jambola.

My Starting Front Line? Curry/Frye/Lee. Make them adjust to us.

That's just a coincidence. Nothing in Frye's game would change the way Curry has been able to play. Frye's able to step out on the perimeter and clear out space for Curry cuz he's a threat from out on the floor, so that wouldn't negatively effect Curry's ability to score. All that's happened is that the guards are doing a better job of feeding Curry. Frye doesn't change that at all. Frye's shots are just going to other guys now that's all. Lee is NOT A THREAT from outside, so his man should be able to cheat off of him and bother Curry. Lee's value is in better D, assists and rebounding. That effects the teams overall play, but the dynamic of how Frye and Curry work together and Curry's recent success have nothing to do with it.

i actually think curry's benefitting with frye OUT of the lineup. with david lee there to just clean up the boards, eddy has the entire box to operate on offense. this is a VERY far reach of an example but kind of like how ewing + charles smith never worked.

That's an interesting point which I should have thought of.

Ewing and Charles Smith didn't work because Charles Smith sucked...He was a soft West Coast player who didn't have the range to play inside out...You don't need an exclusive rebounder to compliment Curry because he shoots a high percentage..If anything you need someone who can stretch the defense and run a high pick and roll which Frye is suited for...Smith needed to be near the basket to be successful..Ewing made it difficult as well because his overall game demanded the ball all the time in he post or on the perimeter...Fyre has to play..If Frye and Curry play to their potential, they can be an unbelievable tandem..Imagine moving the ball around to both guys on the blocks where they can post you on either side of the basket in the same offensive set...Also, Smith and Ewing never worked because there were never a Charles Smith and Ewing...It's always been Oak and Ewing...
