5. Violating terms of contract: Going over Thomas' head to propose trades
When Brown was hired, he (as well as the media) was told he would have a large impact on personnel decisions. Which makes me wonder why he would do something as blatant as calling up teams and making offers over Thomas' head, which would be grounds for immediate dismissal if the team wanted (and also would have made Stern's ruling an open-and-shut case). If Brown was reduced to throwing out his own trades, I would imagine that it would mean that Zeke was not giving him that promised input, which could be a mitigating circumstance. Maybe he was trying to submarine certain moves that he didn't like, or maybe he was trying to prove to Zeke that the moves could be made. It doesn't make it right, but if Brown was given the input he was promised, he wouldn't have done it.
Verdict: Mitigating circumstances
I pretty much agree with the article. but this point is crazy to me and I don't agree with it at all. First we can't assume he wasn't given the input that was promised because there is every indication that he was. LB said so himself publicly on a many occasions, the most public of which was his 'juice card' which he flexed on Marbury. Both he and Marbs confirmed this in the media.

I believe Brown would have done it, because I believe his ultimate goal was to become GM, and all of his actions were consistant with that.

Impatient because he told Dolan and Isiah exactly what was needed and that it should be done as soon as possible? I don't get it, oohah. This is exactly what was needed and what the bosses ultimately decided to do. I look at this now and it looks like a mistake was made in firing Brown because of several different things.

As soon as possible? How about immediately? And in the meantime LB would not try to win games or build any kind of cohesion?

Firing LB was not the mistake. The mistake was hiring him.

Immediatly? Try to build Cohesion?!? Bro, you do realize we are 4 games into the season and Isiah released Jalen after the 1st game. Released Mo T BEFORE camp. You need a better excuse than trying to build Cohesion as to why it is ok that Thomas can do the things it wasn't ok for Brown to even suggest. To suggest Larry wanted them done immediatly and Isiah showed some type of patience before following the Larry plan is a little out of wack with reality.

Tell you what...I'll agree that hiring LB was a mistake if you agree that Isiah gave him a piss poor team to coach.

You know, everyone says LB tried to make a power play to take over Zeke. What about the power play that Zeke made not getting LB the players he needed/requested when he was here and then after LB was fired going out and following the LB game plan?

Given that we don't have much of a season to look forward to, all that's left is the soap opera... and I'm wondering: Now that the contract is settled, when will Larry or his operatives/loyalists start spreading to the news about what went down with the knicks last year.

Since Isiah and Dolan had no problem going public with behind the scenses dirty laundry over the summer, and the organization continues to take subtle jabs at LB, when will Larry answer back? When will he let it be known what it was like working for Isiah and Dolan?

It's not like him to avoid a public sparring match.

He stands to be sued and lose whatever he got, if he says anything about it. That was the agreement. I think it is better to just keep it shut up for good. Personally, I had more than enough of the damn soap opera!
I'll never trust this' team again.

Getting back to the initial post, why do we need to hear LB's side when we can see it living and breathing every miserable game.

I'll tell you what. If Brown never' talks, then you know' he got something big from his terminated contract.
I'll never trust this' team again.

yeah, I think he's letting this year's on-court performance do the talking ... very shrewd LB, very shrewd.
