The other day I started a post that I thought would be a fun diversion to let everyone express their prediction for whether the team will succeed or not this year, which my friends and I do for other teams. Rather than responses, I got attacks from mostly "haters" calling the post stupid. I really don't understand this strong emotion regarding the hater/optimist views. IMO, if you don't like the team and think that the team will fail this year, I have no problem with you having that opinion or stating that position and why you feel that way. I will still assume that you will support the team and if you go to the games, that you will shout for the Knicks to win. There are other teams that I don't like due to the coach or other issues, but I will still support the team because I am a fan of the team regardless of whether I like the coach. Yet, for some reason, the people that have negative views about the Knicks seem to take being called a "hater" as some insult or act as if they are ashame of their view. The optimists on the other hand seem to have no problem expressiing optimism about the team. Maybe that is simply human nature, but anyway, I don't think people should be taking these labels that seriously. We are all Knicks fans and want the team to succeed. Some people think the team will do that this year, and others think that the team will not. The labels are insignificant in my opinion. Maybe there was some huge controversy or attacks against the haters on this board in the past that I am not aware of.

It wasn't the post. It was the fact that you started out the post "are you a hater" or an "optimist" or somehting like that. Guys get tired of that nonsense. It was funny, when I started a post and simply asked for predictions without labeling anyone I got plenty of responses.

I guess Sometimes when you hear it from the haters, you think that's just the haters. We had five other posters that told you why they didn't like your post. And you heard something pretty specific from me. If you don't know why we didn't like it, it's because whatever school you went to wasn't a good academic institution. You are delusional.

You know the level of your ignorance amazes me. I write a simply post stating a position and asking a question as to why the strong response and my thoughts and I get personal attacks on my education. That was uncalled for and if it was not coming from someone who obviously cannot express themselves with out lashing out I would be more offended. I am sure that I have more education than you do but that really is not the point. I kind of thought that the so called "haters" actually had valid views, but now I see that you guys are just that "haters" that cannot view anything with any objectivity and only seek to validate your egotistic agendas. It is really pathetic. I expected more from you Bippity but I guess my eductation level lead me to overestimate yours.

I like Hoss to as a person. As a poster, garbage. When someoene misrepresents my posts I don't have respect for that. Joke around. Poke fun. Ridicule. Be sarcastic. All that stuff has it's place. But misrepresenting and dismissing what someone says because you "know what they really think" is nonsense. I don't come on here to play with kids. I come on to talk hoops and have fun. That's his only flaw. As a person he's fine. No problems with him at all and I hope he hangs around.

Actually as a person rvhoss is a racist ***hole.

I had no problem with him until he brought my ethnicity into it.

Talk about missing the point. Whoever started this better fan bs? You don't like where the team is going cause we are not winning a championship with this team right? Well I know that too. No great insight needed, even a dumb Net fan could've told me that. Also, David Lee playing next to Curry is what 60% of the forum wanted, except that LB wanted Lee to play at SF. That I knew too. Franbury backcourt not working, that I know. Curry not showing effort, that I know.

The problem some (sometimes including me) have is the constant negativity. Rome wasn't built in a day. Last year killed the teams morale. It'll take time to build confidence. It will also take time to build trade value. Stephon, Franics etc have to play to have trade value. If the Knicks lose, they suck worse than a middle school girls team. If they win, they suck because they weren't perfect. OK, I know they are not perfect. I know they are not winning a championship with this team. Whats wrong with picking up on the positive? I'm tired of people saying "I told you so" blah blah because its best for the team. BUT, I'm not censoring anyone.
