but don't we all prefer to just see how Lee and Frye work out before we regulate them to the bench?

I mean, is this coming year's win loss total more important than progress?

Well then start 1 over Boozer but thats a solid 4 man rotation while dumping one of the NBA's worst contracts and worst personalities. It is a win/win. What do we lose? Make Marbury in to Sloans headache. We have had our Marbury era. I'm ready for a new Era.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

hmmm. Well, with the team looking to move a different direction than the 1960's NBA, bringing in bangers and pass first point guards is basically saying, let's rebuild...AGAIN.

3 to 5 years...that's the measuring stick used in all of sports.

We've yet to get to 3.

Dumping Marbury isnt changing the whole team again. Its dumping a horrible contract and a questionable teammate.

Why is that trade that terrible

Curry brings what the team looks terrible with him out there?

Crawford can score and thats about it, what does he really bring to the table other than a few game winners when we were never in the playoffs.

Its addition by subtraction

Check the number of games Boozer played last year.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Okay, now that's funny. Could you imagine Marbury in Utah. If he thought Minny was bad, he will be shooting people after spending a season in Utah. And, him and Sloan would not work at all. We would have to throw in Frye or Lee before Utah would even return our phone call.

MARBURY WOULDNT HAVE A CHOICE IF HE WANTS HIS 17-22 MILL A YEAR.
Sorry caps locked.
Sloan wouldnt put up with diva bs. Does that mean Marbury cant just shut up and play? Thats Utah's problem. I'd go with Boozer and Deron Williams for Marbury in a second. I'd even throw in a #2 pick

How often can you trade for the #1 pg in the nba?

I would give them Frye for Boozer and Deron Williams with Marbury in a heartbeat Frye is not going to put up better numbers than boozer they are both suspect defenders and Deron at least has some sort of future and can play a little bit of defense.

I was thinking of a 3-way, in which Francis goes to Denver , Kmart goes to Utah , and Boozer comes our way.

- For Denver, Francis becomes their starting SG, a needed additional shooter, and can also backup Andre Miller at PG. It clears up their big man glut, while saving over $20 M and two years in contract length
- Sloan gets a defender down low and replacement big.
- Knicks get Boozer's boarding and interior presence; thinning out our guard glut and shoring up our bigs. The result: a Curry-Boozer-Frye frontcourt. Frye is the back-up at both PF/C.
Boozer's deal totals almost the same as Francis'(actually $1M cheaper), while extending for an extra year. So it's like buy 3 years get one free.

The only problem I see with this deal is that Utah takes on an extra year and a larger contract (while Kmart and Boozer's contracts are almost identical this year, Boozer's remains flat, while Kmart's escalates over 10% per year). So for Denver to ditch Kmart and get a talented guard, they would have to throw something else in. Maybe a #1, or Hodge, Klieza, etc. A small additional contract like Hodge or Klieza would probably be necesssary to make the numbers work with Francis' bloated deal.

I know that 3-team trades are not the easiest to pull off, but I'd think that the Knicks and Denver both benefit enough from this deal that they could sweeten things for Utah.

marbury is virtually untradeable. i don't think any team in the entire league wants him.
francis is close but i think if it's for anybody, it's kmart or zach.

we're in a tough spot.

i'd rather have KMart... he'd fit in alot better w/what the Knicks are trying to do here... they want to run an uptempo style offense, much like what the Nets were running when KMart was running circles around KT & Othella during his days w/the Nets... i know he's not what he used to be, but his style of game is best suited for that run & gun style... Boozer's better for a halfcourt style.

I don't think Jerry Sloan would let Starbury do his "thing".

But it would sure be fun to watch.

I prefer Kmart's D and fire, but man does he have an ugly contract. 5 years and I think the 5th is for almost $17 M. He's also the bigger injury risk (especially when you factor in the contract). I'd do Francis for Kmart (and hopefully we get something else tossed in for relieving them of the big money/long length contract. But I don't think Dolan would go for the extra $$$. A plus is that Kmart already knows the NY scene. Curry & Kmart with Frye backing up both slots. Looks good to me (if the medical reports clear Kmart enough).

The case for Boozer over Kmart is mostly:
younger, healthier (marginally), a smaller contract that runs one year less.
Boozer a better boarder and scorer, but worse defense and alot less fire.

^good post. i agree that Dolan is not likely to want to take on any huge contracts at this point since he already issued the ultimatum to Isiah to win w/what he's got right now... btw, we talked about lots of possibilities for a potential KMart trade here if you're interested in chiming in:
