Harrington is a PF and Granger is a SF. The Harrington signing in no way impacts Granger, whom by the way , I COVETED since he was sophmore at New Mexico.

au contraire my good man...harrington is a small forward...Did you not remember him having David Lee for breakfast on the perimeter last year...He is a small forward tho...

True he MIGHT have played SF but his natural position is PF and its the position he'll be playing for the Pacers.
C- J'Oneal
PF- Harrington
SF- Granger
SG- Jackson
PG- Tinsley

You can bank on it.

the pacers are going small this year, and granger will start at SF.

frye wont touch 20 and 10, if he plays 30 minutes he'll probly see around 16 and 7.

what i want to know is........why do we have two big men whose specialty is solely scoring, and nothign else, especially when our backcourts specialty is scoring, and nothing more?

i mean really.......please tell me.

im curious.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Ive supported Isiah for 3 years but I can honestly say I'm really sick and tired of being the JERRY SPRINGER SHOW of the NBA.

Co-signed. There was a time not too long ago that people hated the Knicks b/c they were afraid to play us (ThugBall). Being hated is tolerable. Being laughed at is not.

BTW, 33 years means you saw the last NYK Championship squad, correct? If so, do you remember what that was like? I never really got a perspective from someone who was there to see it.

I remember both Knick championships. The first one with Dick Barnett as the SG; and the 2nd one with Earl Monroe at the SG spot.

That puts me at 47; but I'm still a young Knicks fan. The NBA has changed a lot from those days; but I still root for the Knicks to get another NBA crown....the closest one coming when Riley left Starks in the 4th too long (game 7) hoisting blanks from the 3pt arch (against the Rockets).

The championship Knicks played great ball together on both sides of the court; and they were respected for their play against their foes. Going into regular season games you'd expect the Knicks to come out winners; but when it came to the finals they weren't expected to win.

They had to go against tall odds and Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, and Gail Goodrich. Also other big Laker contributers on those teams.

I vagely remember the playoffs leading up to both of the finals; but I do remember the year after the last championship when we were eliminated by the Washington Bullets after Bill Bradley missed a last second desperation jumper from the corner that would have either extended the series or pushed the Knicks into the next round.

I remember that particular shot (after the last championship); because in replays it looked like if Bradley would have done a "quick" jump pass to Clyde under the basket (instead of hoisting the shot); then the Knicks would have had a better chance of continuing on for a chance at ring number 3. Clyde seemed wide open, and looking up at the flight of the ball.

I remember the regular season battles between the Knicks and some of their rivals; but I vividly recall Clydes smoothness, and one time when he went up against Phil Cheneir and the Bullets. Chenier just went and threw a sucker punch at Clyde as whe was getting ready to pass the ball on offense.

Clyde had two hands on the ball and over top his head, and the game was played at MSG.

It was surprising; because it was never known that Clyde would ever do something to anyone (an opponent) to get them riled up to the point that they would want to fight him.

It was after that punch though, that Clyde showed me a big part of what he was about. A quiet; but giant assasin.

Clyde was having a so-so game up to that point; but it was early in the game. Instead of Fraizer electing to go right back at Chenier with a fist of his own...Clyde sought of showed displeasure from the punch (rubbing at his jaw); the game was temporarily halted by the refs to straighten the situation out, then Clyde came out and burned the Bullets and Chenier for 45 points. He looked unstoppable.....and mad.

Chenier had a look of fear in his eyes every time Clyde had the ball in his hands. That's one day were Chenier looked completely stupid, and you can tell he regretted waking Clyde up.

There were a lot of good memeories from those days with all the Knick starters and reserves. I do remember Cazzie Russell, Spenser Haywood, Phil Jackson, Mike Riordan, Dave Stalworth, Dean Meminger, Henry Bibby, Hawthorne Wingo, and more.

Of course the Knicks have had their ups and downs since those championship years, and there will be another one to come; but I'm not going to come down on this year's team.

You have to start from somewhere, and it takes a lot to win a title. There's no such thing as a team can't win with a certain player on it...it still takes a combination of players, skill, defense, coaching, healthiness, & luck to pull all the cards out.

There's not one player on the current roster that's not exempt from getting an NBA ring....it will take some more tuning, and bringing in bigger and more intensified stoppers on the defensive end. and some consistency from at least two regular starters whether that's Marbury, or someone else brought in down the road.

I'm not refering to this year that the Knicks can win a championship. I'm just stating that even though a lot of folks come down on these players and their coach, we may see some of these same players we complain about in a few years be a part of a resurgeance.

BTW...you can call me an old man if you want; but I'm still young at heart. have been blessed with the looks and body of a 30 year old. Still play b-ball in the parks on the weekends; and have a 28 year old girlfriend; while talking to two more that are 32 years of age.

Life is going good. Now if the Knicks can return to glory in this fast paced hip-hop style NBA; then I can relax and settle down and R.I.P.

Somebody Help my Knicks!!!

LOL Old school Pat Riley won a championship last season. Pop is as old school as they come won the season before and even LB the year before that. Maybe sometimes old school works?
I'd love Jerry West to be our GM. He would get rid of the thugs and the divas and let our kids grow.

who would you classify has a thug on this team...

Probably a wrong term. Make it wannabe thug. You cant be a thug when you run from fights.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

we need thugs! It would be nice if losing made more of these guys a little angry, if after getting dunked on repeatedly one of our bigs sent one of these guards a message.

Anyone remember the "no layup rule" ???????

That tradition in practice changed Knick basketball for years. NO LAYUPS. Even if you are fouling EVERY SINGLE TIME it doesnt matter, because at least your in the habit of challenging every layup. Make them earn it at the line. If we have to play Q at PF and Balkman at center because guys are fouling out I dont care. Get that thick guy a contract (is that Eldon Brown???). He looks willing to whack a guard or two. Its not that complicated. Our bigs should be fouling on EVERY layup until they learn NOT TO FOUL.

oh man could we use a guy like that... part of the reason I wanted to stick Reggie Evans next to Frye, Curry and Lee. They are a dying breed.

My wife has lots of pansies in her garden... hey, kinda like MSG. A garden full of pansies.

i was watching the 92 knicks/bulls playoff series the other day. riley's first year with xman at sf. i started to cry. NOBODY on this team would be able to last one practice with that squad.

the sh t they got away with back then was unreal. jordan had two hands on him at all times and still dropped 30+ like it was nothing. he would average 40+ if he was playing today.

#23's will to win was second to none. Whether he had the talent is not the question. His will was far more superior than anyone else's.

part of the reason some of these guy's #s are bloated. Would Kobe score like he does if the Bowens and Howards of the league are allowed to keep a body on him? Would the "combo" guards like Arenas and Billups be as successfull guys like Derrick Harper were allowed to keep a hand on your waiste and an elbow in your back?

We could use another Xman

And correct me if I'm wrong, but x-man wasn't known as an in-your-face player before or after here. That was our culture ( I still love ya Riley), and you adapted or got traded.

Nowadays our culture is to hide, call your mommy, run upstairs to Isiah, jabber to the press, build in excuses, get a note from your doctor, call it "just a hobby"... I can't take it any more. We need an identity fast, and a whining narcissism is not one I'd pay to see.

Good stuff Fish...Think that was meant to soften me up a touch...

Not saying that it's ok but seems to be more happening behind the scenes between Greg A and Zeke...Greg might have been lobbying for the job as GM behind Zeke's back...Who Knows...Either way, Isiah's response was bush league...Still can't wait for the season to start so we can concentrate on the X's nd O's...

Lobbying for Isiah's job?! Come on, bro! He was an commenting on what was happening. Everybody in the joint expected IT to pick Williams at that spot. He was projected going around 10th.

xman had a tough transition during the regular season here. he had knee surgery a short time before he got here so that "explosive" game he had in seattle was gone. but you're right, he fit right in with the brute defense first mentality riley implemented. he average 9 boards a game in the playoffs. oak averaged 10+ and ewing averaged 10. that's 30 rebs a night from the frontcourt. unreal. and xman beat the CRAP out of pippen. marv albert, on commentary, was saying stuff like "pippen looks shaken" and "jordan looks beaten down". and the crowd during those games were the LOUDEST i ever heard the garden. i was there for games 3+4 and those were the best two knicks games i've ever been to in my entire life. that was my favorite knicks team of all time.
