They should be able to to get a better FA than they would have gotten via trade with the expiring contract anyway. Butle WAS available. I assume Q Woods still is.

There is no excuse for the Mo Taylor trade in any way shape or form. The only possibly explanation for the deal is that Isiah was trying to acquire Mo Taylor as a replacement for Kurt Thomas, because he knew he was trading Kurt after the season. I also believe Isiah thought he would be able to use Mo's expiring deal, but that Dolan has since put the clamps on that kind of spending - but even that doesn't excuse the general awfulness of the move. it's Isiah's worst trade and worst move behind hiring Larry Brown. hopefully someone signs Mo and we won't have to pay that part of his contract, but whatever. It's better just to get him off the team at this point and sign Paul Miller for the minimum.

Enyspree is right, everybody loved Layden, and they cried when he left. Now they're on Isiah's ass for a couple bad decisions (shakes his head).

https:// It's not so hard.

also, there's no difference on the wire between a waive and a buy-out. I have a feeling the Knicks saved a little money on a buy-out here. but I am ecstatic to get this slug off the team. more time for Lee, Jefferies and most importantly, Frye.

Maybe Isiah finally got it we need more role players, getting rid of someone who plays like they are the only option is a step in the right direction. Why aren't you guys happy? who would Thomas would have gotten for Mo T. Maybe a Kfart?(Thank the lord that didn't happen). I see this as a positive one less distraction and Mo T was yaking it up all week. I knew this would happen sooner or later. Mo T contract would have given us a broken down player or two decent priced players. Add either to the stuffed roster it didn't add up. Addition by subtraction I say.

The way i see it, the people who want to bash Isiah for the Mo Taylor affair have a right to do so. But if it was a mistake, and now its being corrected, then THIS move is a positive, right? So everybody wins, the haters get a free pass to hate, and David Lee gets a few more minutes. Next step, Malik Rose.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Let me get this straight...You guys are now pissed that Isiah didn't add more bad contracts and continue the movement of adding salary that no one else wants....

Hold up, did you just refer to Jalen, Francis, and Marbury as bad contracts?

I'm not sure where you are going with this, enlighten me...

Really? I thought it was obvious.

The Knicks completed their buyout of Maurice Taylor. They will sign two big men to compete for the open roster spot: Wichita State center Paul Miller and Virginia power forward Elton Brown. Word is, Brown has given Eddy Curry all he could handle in scrimmages. Taylor was viewed as a potential cancer in the locker room, despite his immense trade value as an expiring contract

Well, now they are saying it IS a buyout, for one thing.

However it is the second bolded sentence that concerns me. Is this guy Elton Brown really that good, or can Eddy Curry really not handle an undrafted, unsigned FA?

Geez guys. What a bunch of whining. This is simple. The knicks cut Mo b/c he represents the kinda crap we cannot have this year: he's a selfish, unfit, no D primadonna whose bark (attitude) is far larger than his bite (game). Plus, this ensures that we won't be unloading an expiring contract for another bad contract this time...the exact same thing that has brought this organization down.

They just jump on any opportunity to bash Thomas and the Knicks. Now that's pathetic.

I'm sure he's not outscoring Eddy. If Eddy is the same player as last season and in the same physical condition (which would be a disaster), it wouldn't surprise me if Brown were out-rebounding and playing better defense than Eddy.

I have no problem witht he Knicks cutting Mo. He didn't fit. Instead of waiting for the trade deadline and being at the mercy of who may be available, let's move on now. It was the right thing to do.

But for those protecting Isiah for some weird reason, he was the guy that got MoT. And when people questioned the move in awe he sold a bill of goods. And many, once again bought it. It was a dumb move and did not fit into any plan because Isiah has changed plans 40 million times. Can you admit that or is that too much? He's just one of about 8 or 9 guys Isiah has acquired that don't fit into a plan. TT, MoT, Nazr, Trevor, Butler, Jalen, Stevie, QWoods, Lenny Wilkens, LARRY BROWN, the list goes on and on. These are all Isiah's moves, noone else.

The truth is that Isiah is seeing the err of his ways. He's now seeing that you can't win games unless you have team first guys, that play defense and accept their roles. He's finally listening to the pessimists. Every move and non move this summer has been an admission that we were 100% correct. The optimists should be thanking us for keeping the heat on and seeing through all the nonsense and putting him to task. Without us, it would be the same shiot.

Nobody is protecting Isiah. Read Crzy's post, read Eny, read mine.

So when someone criticizes a move he makes and someone else says don't criticize the guy that means they aren't protecting him?????? I didn't single anyone out, so don't take it personally but there are people that think everytime Isiah buys out another one of his mistakes, LB, MoT, etc, that it's part of some intricate plan.
