As for the original topic. I don't care what Shaq or Zo says. My personal opinion is that they are correct. But that doesn't matter. IT's ancient history. LB is gone and not coming back. Now all these players have their dream coach. My question is what are they going to do for him. Are they going to play? Or are they going to make excuses. Whether you are a "real fan" or a hater you don't know until the season starts. And when it starts it really doesn't matter what our opinions are. The Knicks need to start being winners end of story

Based on last year I wouldn't be so sure. I would not be surprised if someone upset with their playing time sat down on the court and started reading the newspaper. Not sure how that would be much different than what I saw for a lot of last year.

I hear you bip.

FAITH is a strong emotion. Its good to have it, but we talking sports.

The knicks are entertainers just like the movies. Ever see a preview of a movie when they interview the actors and they spout how the cast really liked each other and how great the director was, and how much fun they had making the movie and how great its going to be?

Its business. Preseason they suppose to say all this crap and be excited and blah blah blah!

Sell tickets is what its all about. Fans want to believe they care. The NY knicks basketball club incorp. don't care about its fans and don't care about winning, its about selling tickets.

Some teams actually find that its mutually beneficial to do both!

With each passing year I find myself less and less attached to this team. Its time they show something tangable instead of on paper starphuching its fans.

I agree. We've bought into the hype for a while. But I'm like you it's just come to a point where I just don't care about all the talk. The nonsense about LB being gone and things being better. Or signings of JJ and the chemistry talk. On paper and at the ticket selling booth it all sounds great. They are once again rolling around on their beds full of money. But until I see results I have a hard time caring about what they or the "kool aid drinkers" are saying. As the famous philosopher George Bush once said:

"fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

That's my motto this offseason. No more hype about how great we are going to be. No more hype about how great the offseason additons are. No more hype about how much better the chemistry is. I want guys in camp, in shape, ready to go, ready to subjugate their games to the good of the team. NOt expecting systems to be designed to help their games. But for them to design their games to help the system. I'm sick of the "it's not my fault it's the coach", "it's not my fault it's the system" "it's not my fault it's my teammates" "I can't play hard because I don't know my role" "we're younger so that means we are better", "Marbs is with Isiah so things are better" "we have a tall front line so we are better". This is all nonsense. Until it happens ON THE COURT the players will get nothing from me. No as-s kissing for a 59 loss team. They had every right to hate LB last year. But they have no excuse for not playing hard. And those that make excuses for them are settling and happy with 41 wins and an 8th seed and would be happy with that for the rest of their lives.

Thank you Shaq and Zo for exposing once again the primadonnas and to what length people will go to make excuses for them as they pile up the losses. We can't listen to the all-time greats, we can't listen to other coach's we only want to listent to guys that bring us nothing but losses.

Based on the players histories currently on the team, I believe they will put forth the effort and make a serious run at both the atlantic title and/or the 6 to 8th seed.

last year did not exist.

We talking about the same Shaq that feud with Brian Hill?

The same Shaq that beefed with Hardaway and Bryant?

The same Shaq that didn't want to follow Stan Van Gundy?

The same Alonzo Mourning that, to this day, continues to trash the New Jersey Nets? EVEN AFTER they gave him and his one kidney that 22 Million contract?

right....

That's great. Beleive it. Hold on to that belief. I'm of the belief that after last year there is absolutely no reason for them not to do exactly as you say. They are out of excuses so your scenario seems to be the only logical. But if you want to go on personal history. Why would we question someone who also believes that this team has the possibility to argue with IT and complain about the system and since noone on our roster has won at the NBA level, then based on their histories continue to lose. Both situations are equally plausible and I think it's perfectly reasonable for fans to say "shut up and prove it to me".

As for Shaq and Zo feuding with coach's. Every player feuds with coach's. I tell my players that they have every right to march in my office after practice and games and have it out with me. But Shaq and Zo have never done what our team did last year, which is quit!. If all they did was feud, I would be all for telling Shaq and Zo to shut up. But you watched other teams say your team was quitting. The Celtics and Lakers both came out and said it in the papers as they beat us by 80 pts. And instead of seeing this and being angry with our players. Instead we called Paul Pierce and Kobe and Shaq and Zo "haters". And then brought up their past histories as if that somehow makes up for the fact that our team quit. Some fans are clearly settling. Gone are the days of overachieving. Gone are the days of hustling, diving into the stands, giving it your all everyday just to compete with the far more talented teams. In it's place are excuses, telling our players it's okay to not be good at D, just score pts. It's so sad. Until we win we will be called out. And until we win, they will all be 100% correct because they can see it whether they were here or not.

It seems that any reporter, including Chad Ford and players who have been labeled "haters" the last 3 years have actually been telling it the way it is.

Until there are tangable results it would appear the hate has been the truth.

exactly...every player does it.

and as far as the "team" quitting.....I don't think they did. But that's my opinion...To say Marbs or Nate "quit" because they only shot a certain amount of times is ridiculous. How many times has Shaq shot the ball below his avg in a game? Did we/media ever call him a quitter or suggest he has some sort of secret agenda?

The fact is....All your favorite sport reporters were predicting this Knick team to reach the playoffs this past season under Brown.....when things fell apart they all blamed Thomas....when Steph made that "Starbury" comment, they all blamed him and the players.....and when Brown got fired and they all took a step back and finally saw the big picture, they all said, "Maybe Brown did sabortage the season for whatever reason"

regardless of what stage you're on...if you're a bad coach the players are not going to play to their full potential cuz their mnd is not going to on the game....so in conclusion...fcuk Zo and Shaq.

I think what Bip was trying to say with the "every player fueds with coaches" comment, is that all players do fued with their coaches but in the end, most of the time they go out there and they play their butts off anyway, not sink into a shell and quit like these Knicks did last year. What do you think Marbury was doing when he he didn't shoot the ball in Orlando, he was pouting and that was his way of getting Larry to see his displeasure, I'm surprised more fans aren't upset with this. That was a game the Knicks could have won if Stephon had actually decided to show up, but instead he wanted to be a baby and prove his point by stomping his foot and hiding in the corner instead of being a man and going out and showing the coach what you can do on the court.

I can't personally recall once that Shaq has ever let his distractions with a coach get in the way of his performance on the court, because thats not the kind of player Shaq is. Anyone comparing Shaq to Stephon Marbury is nuts, there is no comparison. Shaq was a young player when that happened and he LEARNED from it, something Marbury still has yet to do. Shaq's fued with Kobe also never got in the way of Shaq being the player he is, they won 3 championships together. Don't compare Shaq and Marbury.

I don't get how some of you guys put no blame on the players for last year. Last year WAS NOT the first year the Knicks have been playing badly, it's been going on for YEARS now, Larry was just another coach that our primadona PG couldn't play for, add him to the list of Lenny, Herb, D'Antoni, Byron Scott, Flip Saundes. Larry didn't coach his best last year, we all know that, but the players have been a problem here for a long time and until the cancers known as Marbury and Francis are gone, these Knicks aren't going ANYWHERE.

You guys sound like you have been hurt too many times by women and now hang at the gay bar.

Dudes, its just sports. I don't are anything other than that. Some of you guys take it past that.

I just don't understand where some of you get off implying that a lot of is worship the players and losing. Last year should have been a big step ahead, but the team took the ultimate step backwards. Still guys like shaq and zo come out of know where with some comments and guys want to agree with guys that are winners. That is just gay.

Open your eyes. Brown is a loser too. Anyone are the opening day starting line-up? From day one brown was screwing around. I don't want to be bringing up a whole mess of reasons why brown sucked cuz we been through it. Last year was a shame. It was a very strange year. No one will know if brown really did try to con the knicks. It sure looked like it.

Why do people still say brown could have helped this team after what went on last year?

Right now the reality is the knicks are a year older, they have a system that fits the players. The rotations look to be set already. All we gotta do is play the games. That's all its about. If the knicks win 23 games again next year then we can run down town with a bulldozer and destroy the garden.

The fun of the game is to talk about how the team can get better. All people want to talk about is how sick they are of being hurt. This Larry brown bs is the dumbest **** ever cuz the proof is documented with the NBA record 40 plus starting line-ups. This team didn't need that, they needed consistancy from their coach to be consistant on the court. That is simple mathmatics.

And no one is siding with the players I tell you that is making me mad as hell.

The people that say that are the ones still talking about Larry. Get off it already. Everyone wants to win. There are 30 NBA teams right? Stop bitching. Try to enjoy the team. Everyone gets upset but it has to be about the game nothing else. We have had charity threads about marbs and dudes still talk about the game and associate that with off the court stuff. All of that is gay talk.

Nothing against gay people but even the gayest of the gay would be calling some of you guys divas.

All I can say is enjoy the game and stop bitching. Stop shoping at H&M and head down to the mens wherehouse, you'll like the way you look. I guarentee it!

with the exception of a few typos enyspree hit the nail on the head...while it's a free country, and bringing up the 20% of the things that bother you and define the entire knick future, I beg to differ.

The knicks will do well next year.

i'm counting the days to the season.

last season did not exist.
