No. I think Marbury is a very charitable guy and is worth admiration, but Mutombo is so good that Marbury couldn't hold is jock. Not dissing Marbury at all really. Just stating that it's amazing what Deke is doing out in Africa.

So you would argue that Walter Payton couldn't hold Emmitt Smith's jock because Emmitt gained a few more yards right?
Jeter can't hold a jock to Joe Mauer because his batting average is lower right?

Can you say moron?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

I don't understand how anyone can not be sick of Marbury's act. He calls himself the best PG in the league, he blames others when the going gets rough, he always gets his way, obviouly he opens his mouth way too much but how come he cant say something like...

"since I've gotten here, it's been bad, I've got to get better and so does everyone else"

Why can't that be what his says instead of drawing attention to himself by calling himself the best PG in the league while the team is in the midst of its worse run in their history.

It's pathetic and I'm sick of these me-first players that Isiah brings in here. Bring in some players that are happy to put on the friggen jersey for once. Players like Curry, JJ are lucky if they can even fit in the jersey. I'm surprised players like Marbury and Francis can fit the jersey's over their overinflated heads and egos. I just want to watch a team full of players who aren't interested in drama and want to help each other get better, play defense and win some games. Is it too much to ask?

Actually Steph has taken some of the blame for what's gone on here. YOU just haven't been listening. You only hear what you want to hear. You can't look at this team objectively and admit that Steph has been the BEST player on the team since he got here and we've yet to find enough players who can lift their level of play enough to help him. He can't MAKE the shots for his teammates and he can't rebound or defend for them either. He has an impact on how they play, but he also has to have a Coach who knows what he's doing too. He's had some good coaches and some bad. He's had some OK teams and some Horrible ones.

As an example, tell me how he was supposed to overcome the loss of H2O and TT in the playoffs in his 1st year? Still he gets bashed for the team losing to NJ. A team at the top of its game and fully healthy. He came here and avg'd 9.3 assists and that CLEARLY would have been even higher had H2O been fully healthy and the team not gone thru a 2nd change in the roster. In the past when he's had even a decent team he's made it to the playoffs. I see no reason to think that he in any way hinders a team from winning.

Funniest post ever.

That's pretty much what I've been saying this entire thread. Especially the Jeter part. Not so much the Emmit Smith portion of your most recent posting adventure however. But it was close though.

Wow...I can't wait until the summer is over and the season begins. Boredom leads to off the wall posts.
NY KNICKS 4 EVER! Will we ever find players like Anthony Mason, Xavier McDaniels, Patrick Ewing again? I hope so.

I guarantee if I said Malik Rose, Ray Allen, Allan Houston, Shaq, Charlie Ward or any other player known to make some donations people would be like "Ohh no, I totally agree with you. F' those guys, Dikemebe is the man." Yet b/c I put the player who most people like the most (As a Knick) then the rumble in the message board begins.

LOL. That was a great post... if you're into fiction. Please tell me where to buy your rose-colored glasses?
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

you wouldn't have put that because no one cares. You wanted to put down Marbs to get a reaction, and thats what happened.

That's absolutely true. Wanna know something else? Latrell Sprewell couldn't hold Allan's jock? Oh what's that? Ohh. Chew on that. Tastes like filet mignon.

David Robinson has given untold millions to his Carver schools here in San Antonio.
I LOVED how Curry just exploded in the 4th, speaking as a fan of the Raptors, Curry looked well, scary I think is the word. Or Shaq-like Curry: 19.1ppg-7.3rpg-58%fg

I hate to bring this up at this point and time but it is clear to me that Stephon Marbury could not hold David Robinson's jock when it comes to charity work.

He couldn't hold manute Bol's jockstrap either by the way. Somebody find an article about his charity work so that we can prove it to everyone. Allanfan?

Well Bip, I think you're right about that but it's easier for Steph to pick up Manute's jock b/c Mr. Bol (Actually also my old French tteacher in junior high) has a tough time reaching down to hungry children when he's giving them food so he has a real disadvantage. You'd think Steph would take advantage of that, but hasn't. All he's done was put out a $15 shoe. I mean, why not make it $10, or even better for the community, $9.99. But he failed to do this. And plus, Manute has showed even more hard work and dedication by trying his hardest to reach down, giving food to the kids.

Bip, would you say that Marbury couldn't hold Ray Allen's jock?

Couple things: Number one, no way could Marbury hold Ray Allen's jock strap when it comes to charity work......I also agree with the shoe pricing. I grew up poor and was unable to buy sneakers. It would be great to have a shoe priced at $9.99. But most athletes, including Marbury are too arrogant to give us that $9.99 shoe. Instead they price it at $15 and expect us to get all excited. Meanwhile my brother is wearing cardboard boxes on his feet for school today. I'm pretty sure that Ray Allen is working on a $9.99 shoe as we speak.
