Posted by rvhoss: Don't any of you 'ever' yell at a child. I was yelled at when I was a little boy and well into my teens. It took me years to learn to not lose my temper anymore. I still do every once in a great well, but the point is, it can wreck a kid. To this day, I have a hard time with agrressive people, especially those who want you to lose it. There is such a thing as healthy agression, but I can't handle any agression. I'm talking about in person. So don't ever holler at a kid. Talk to them and give them an assignment, a challenge to do good for themselves. They'll respond to that, because they are still innocent and trusting and they want to learn, so it's important to them. Just thought I'd add that on to this topic. Posted by 4949:Posted by rvhoss: I was yelled at as a kid and turned out just fine. There is a difference between yelling at a kid and abusing a kid. Just like yelling, excusing everything can be just as bad. Being moderate, fair and consistent is the only way to raise your child. But this is a topic about the knicks not a topic of proper parenting. It just got onto the topic of parenting because the politically correct police have taught some to over-react to every sentence that is uttered. I just hope that people will like me
